Never knew about cadence. But I definitely relate to the 155 🤣
Feet hurt after a run like I’ve been stomping all day.

I can’t tell a difference besides him moving his legs faster. It gets me more tired when I try to increase my cadence

Wish this video didn't have music over it so we can hear the difference in how heavy the footfall is

I think this is a great video. same speed, different cadences. a lot of people dont seem to realize that cadence does not mean faster or lower speed. you can run the same speed but at different candences. but it's not easy! I'm working on cadence training now.... and I can't seem to slow down - I dont have a treadmill... so it's something I am actively working on. also, I bounce too much while I run at a lower cadence... which of course... sucks out al your energy.

Mine is like 151 I just did 3 miles. First time in forever. But I’m actually kinda overweight and I’m 35 years old oh and I’m flat footed lol

I’ve been struggling with increasing my cadence and I see that you’re heal lift goes down as your cadence goes up. This is a great demonstration and probably what I need to correct. Thanks!

Look at the heels and how they are lower at the end comparing to the beginning of the video

I always run between 175-185, depending on the speed, usually 170-175 is good for easy pace (like recovery runs at 5min/km), 180 for medium efforts (10km Threshold runs at 4min/km) and 180-185 for time trials/races at 3:45 or faster
Of course it changes between individuals but most people should go between 170-185 always

Definitely not true for everyone though, I'm at 160 for easy runs and 175-180 at 5k race pace. One guy at our team who goes to the Olympics has 160 cadence as well for easy runs

Did my first HM in 1:31 but now I'm trying to fix my cadence. I average 155 and tried to go to 165 with a metronome but it was really difficult. If i do an easy sliw run does my foot just kick back less so i can cycle it back to the ground faster? I feel like I'm shuffling my feet.

175 is still pretty low. All the elite marathoners are in the 180-200 spm range.

Is 175 spm a good cadence for slow, easy runs or for speedwork? Like tempo and meter repeats

I’m running for quite some time now and I still feel like I run worse than I should be. I’m running 12km, 3 times a week, but my times and pace are not that good. At least, not what I strive for. In zone 3 I usually run at 6:10/K pace and zone 4 5:30/K. My times are slowly getting better tho, but still… I just learned about Cadence and why it matters and checked my numbers. Found out I average around 145 each run. Do you think this can be the reason I’m ‘slow’? Can increasing my candence result in faster times? I believe 145 is really slow, but how does it affect me besides more risk of injury?

not just help decrease injury but help to slow down heart rate also

My cadence is 165. Do You have specific advice to me about what's body part that i need to improve/engage more?

How are you supposed to improve cadence while running slow I don’t get it

How tall is the guy? That's what matters. Everyone will have different cadence based on height and body proportions (longer torso vs legs vice versa.
Shorter ppl tend to have faster cadences.
