i’m a moron. i searched up why you shouldn’t get air forces (shoes) and when i clicked this i was so fken confused it took me a minute to realize we were talking about different types of air forces ☹️

Being away from family Friends and pets is difficult but the people and relationships you make in the Air Force are amazing. It’s the best thing I did and I love every minute of being in the Air Force

For those watching and are already enlisted/sworn into the DEP; It blows my mind that these videos exist. Simply put; if you can’t leave your home with some independence or courage to explore what the world can offer, don’t join any branch or component of the military. Honestly don’t even leave home for college either lol I hope you’re not here AFTER deciding the Air Force was for you.... The military requires sacrifice in some way, shape or form. Just like any career path you’ll want to pursue. The Air Force requires your time. For most people that care; we pay for your education/certifications and give you a career (or careers if you so desire) that you literally had no experience or money for. You have zero shot of these benefits right out the gate in a normal setting (aside winning the lottery type deals). The Air Force will give you opportunities to travel that you otherwise would have way more difficulty pursuing on your own. On top of this you will wake up everyday knowing what you do makes a difference for someone, somewhere regardless of what job you have. If it hurts your feelings to leave for training / college education, FOR FREE, the real world may not be for you lol especially because part of this lifestyle is to deploy and do our work in service to support national security. Remember that everything comes at a price and 4-6 years will be spent doing something; you might as well see the world any way you can and get some experience that looks incredible to an employer. Break out of your comfort zone and be proud that you didn’t just do a job. You challenged yourself to be better and to be part of something bigger than yourself.

I'm retired AF...20 years...I was able to come in with a guaranteed job and so could everyone else that joined if you were willing to wait for your training pipeline to open up. As far as what base...well, that's wherever the AF wants to send you.

Retired AF - 21 years 6 mons 19 days. One of the best experiences of my life. Did TDY duty or stationed on 6 continents, 15 different countries, 48 states. Definitely would do it all again.❤

I joined with an AFSC already guaranteed. I got my second option for base. AF was a great experience and I 100% recommend it. They also paid for 100% of my college tuition.

With Air Guard you get to choose your job. I am glad I've chosen guard. The nearest base is only an hour from me, depending on the job you have opportunity to serve full time at the closest Air Guard base to you, and you get to be a part of student flight before you leave to basic which prepares you in every way for bmt. After I get back from bmt I will get to apply to serve full time AND not have to be away from family.

Hey, amazing advice. Hope u made staff btw! Just wanted to say, u can choose where you want to go later on with BOP or special assignments (that you have to apply for). Neither of those are guaranteed, but the later worked for me to be stationed somewhere that I love. 100% agree with what you said. You will make a great supervisor.

Hey Brittany, so now that you've had some experience in the Air Force and everything you mentioned in this video, would you recommend joining the reserves rather than active duty?

I recently decided I'm going to [try to] join, but I'm undecided weather to join the reserves for 6 years or active duty for 4 years.

I appreciate any recommendations
