My earliest book present, which i remember, was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Regardless to say it was literally life changing so over the years i hold up the tradition of gifting important books to little people.

I definitely fancy the Drew Barrymore now Leena's described it. Before that I wasn't sure. I have Tyler, Logan and The Good Immigrant on the shelves. Love the cover The Sun is Also a Star, sounds wonderful inside too. I think When Breath Becomes Air would ruin me.

Four of the authors from 'the good immigrant' came to my college and did readings along with a q&a- so interesting, probably one of the best talks I've been to and I will be purchasing the book of course :)

Also, books are great Christmas presents, but books with chocolates and other sweets makes it even better. :D

I haven't read When breath becomes air but it reminded me of an amazing book: The last lecture by Randy Pausch, I recommend it to everyone!

I am so sad, there isn't a single person on my gift list that likes to read. OK, my gift list only contains 3 people (I don't do much gifting) but STILL, urg! I have tried to give my sisters books in the past and they look at me rather askance and I'm pretty sure just plop them straight into the Goodwill donation bag. Oh well, just more for me to buy for myself I guess.
