He forgot these settings when accessing your Microsoft Account.
Click Privacy
Scroll down to "Expanded people suggestions" > choose to turn it off because Microsoft collects that data when they are suggesting people.
Scroll down to "More privacy settings"
- there are 4 card modules across the page (in desktop computer) titled: "Personalized ad settings" | "Apps and services" | "Promotional communications" | "Other Microsoft products".
The first 3 from the left to review the settings or App details, go through each one and turn off, or turn off permissions, or clear any data. / I turned off all of it and removed all permissions. If some App wants permissions for something, it will ask and you can decide on that when it does.

For some of these settings to view, they will open a new browser tab, some will open into the same tab.
** Note: to return to the main privacy page listings, use the menu above clicking "Privacy" because somehow the browser back button won't work properly.

Almost none of this matters if what you're trying to do is keep your data private. No matter what you turn on or off MS will take what they want. Don't think so? Turn off everything you want then put a sniffer on the line... Tons of data being sent - what you're looking at, clicking on, mail, location... they're taking it all. All these switches you're fiddling with are mostly just to make you feel good - maybe "tailor YOUR experience" a bit.
