I love micellar water. It gets EVERYTHING off, makeup-wise. Waterproof, smudge proof, transfer proof, theatre, stains, fake blood, grease paint... micellar water is the GOAT for my skincare routine.

Diluted soapy water wouldn't take off makeup + sunscreen with just a cotton pad. I've used plenty of cleansers that dont do a good job when slathered generously on my face.

seeing your comments about how he's a dermatologist, it really worries me to see how many derms (and doctors in general) always seem to think they know everything when it comes to skincare formulations. i literally saw one teaching how to diy a sunscreen from zinc oxide powder a few years back. as a med student i often get the feeling that doctors think they know everything and don't bother to check – this video is a great example of that. sure there's a lot of marketing that goes into skincare but assuming micellar water is just water with micelles in it… surely a dermatologist would know better?

at that point you start to wonder if there's doctors willingly spreading out misinformation because they know it's more likely to go viral…
