It's sad that horses are being sold for meat, even sadder than other animals. A horse at least is an extremely smart animal, a companion, elegant, majestic, and you can ride them. This world is so sad...stop this insanity, please.

I'd never eat horse meat. Even if the horses can act annoyed, or break a leg, etc. Doesn't mean we must slaughter them, and eat them because they're good.
I love horses, and I'm against everything that has to do with Horse slaughter/meat selling.

A)Horse meat is not illegal in the US The ban on horse slaughter was lifted in 2011 for 2012, however there are no slaughter houses in the US at this time but it is perfectly legal to eat B)It is not only a labelling issue, the bigger problem is that they cannot trace where the meat is coming from so don't know if it is meat raised for human consumption. If it is not it can have traces of drugs in it that are harmful to humans. Please do some actual research before making claims that are untrue

I am not saying fat is not crucial for a balanced diet, but I am currently living in America, and I can see that a lot of people could benefit from a lower amount of fat, and higher amount of protein in their diet. Saying lean meat is "worse" than fatty meat depends on the amount of exercise you are getting. Still, replacing some of the unhealthy fat from cow with healthier monounsaturated fat is often a good idea.

The fact that horses bred for eating has an higher amount of protein, lower percentage of fat, is tenderer, and by personal opinion tastes better than cow, i recommend eating horse meat to almost everybody. The "scandal" was mostly a miss focus by the media, since the problem was not that the meat came from horse, rather than the fact that it was not labeled, which could be a result of illegal slaughtering conditions.

Please think about this, You saw his mother give him birth. You named him. Every day you go out and ride this horse of yours. You develop a strong bond with him.You don't have enough money to keep him, so you sell him to a race track thinking he will go to a great home. You don't worry thinking he went to a great home.He looses his first race and a kill buyer buys him, sending him to a slaughter house for him to be slowly tortured. This is the perspective that many of us horse people are looking at.

My granddad has testicular cancer. Not really, but you said it could be anything related to horses, meat, or balls.

Nope, the only two reasons this is a "scandal" are #1, its mislabeled and some people don't want to eat horses, mainly due to their culture frowning upon it, or they just don't want to. and #2, there are some places where eating horse is illegal, and sometimes against religions. If you feel there's nothing wrong with it, and it's available in your area, give it a try! you'll soon find out its more expensive and switch back to other things though.
