Cleopatra _III?_ Because the famous one was Cleopatra VII. Cleopatra III was Cleopatra VII’s great-grandmother. (On both sides, because the Ptolemies were crazy-inbred.) She lived circa 160-101 BC, and while modern Cairo didn’t exist in her time there was the large, millennia-old city of Heliopolis where Cairo is now. The Ptolemies mostly spoke/wrote Greek since they were a Greek family, but even if Cleo III knew Egyptian she most likely would have written it in demotic script, not the old-fashioned hieroglyphics used by the priests.

There is a lady named Dorthy Eady who had a head injury around 6 years old and woke up claiming she didn’t know where she was and that this isn’t where she remembered being. At a field trip she saw an ancient Egyptian exhibit and claimed that’s where she was from. Really strange part—-at an extremely young age, she could read hieroglyphics ended up translating and solving mysteries. She led archaeologists to sites they’d been searching for years and detailed secret passages and tunnels to exact accuracy.
