A Peruvian young man was dragged to the deep of a lake and returned days later without the ability to talk and his mind in another world. His mom and church prayed for him for days and slowly he recovered. He relayed his experience and said that a woman with golden long hair tried to take him to the deep BUT as was told to him by the demon mermaid, she could not because he was sealed and was the property of God through His Holy Spirit.

My grandpa was a sailor his whole life.And always told us stories of hearing women giggling in the middle of the sea…

My father has been a sailor for almost forty years. I remember that he once told me how, as a young sailor (eighteen years old), one night in the Atlantic Ocean, he saw the face of a beautiful girl deep in the sea. He thought the girl had drowned, that he was seeing her corpse. He went to the captain's room to get his permission to stop the ship and call the coast guard to bring her body to the surface. The captain then told him that it was not a human being and that, in the future, he should never look at the sea at night or before dawn because, according to him, these are only "illusions" that lead to the death of young sailors. He also told me a story about his colleague Mario (there are even newspaper articles about this case; google missing Croatian sailor Mario and you will surely find more on the internet) who stayed cleaning the deck that evening and just disappeared. Since then, absolutely every trace of him has been lost, he disappeared and no one knows what happened to him. There are many more stories he told me, but what I am sure of is that "mermaids" or humanoid sea creatures definitely exist and are not just a myth or an urban legend. I have heard a lot of similar stories from many of his colleagues, and I really think there is something there.

My great grandmother used to tell stories about mermaids in Haiti, if you go swimming and you see one, try your hardest to avoid it because they'll take you under the ocean with them for 1 year and you will return as a voodoo priestess.

To me the book of Enoch is the most intriguing book. I was raised with the Bible and didn't find out about all the other books that were taken or left out til later in life.

They do exist. In my country our parents would warn us not to swim in certain places at certain times, never talk to anything and don’t go trying to figure out sounds and where they came from. I’m AFRICAN. This shit is REALL!!

That theory is so interesting in the light of the fact that it's believed that in the original Odyssey sirens weren't seducting the sailors in a sexual or magical way, but with a song about knowledge and stories so interesting that the sailors would just sit in front of them and listen to it till they die. I can totally see Homer as he was wandering from town to town gathering people by interesting them with his stories coming up with a concept like that.
