How to Restore The Downloads Folder View in Windows 10

Windows 10 has made some changes to the download folder by categorizing files by date. Some people prefer the old view, and it's easy to get it back. Here's how.

I know how to change the Group By to (None) but then the Group By changes back pretty much right away when I either reopen Downloads or even when I refresh a Downloads window that's already open. This does seem to be a more recent issue, and it seems to only happen with the Downloads folder, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was related to a recent Windows 10 update. Any thoughts? On a side note, is there a way to change the default views for other various specialty folders as well, such as Videos, Pictures, Documents, and especially Music, etc?

my problem is when i click my downloads there is a list of them just in text where the images are next to them and far too small to see i need it like before where i click my downloads and all the images appear format

you are a life saver this was sucha stupid change it threw all my files into chaos, i get the option but i used my folder and liked how i had it sorted i would have preferred it was an option i was shown and offered not forced into. :/

Hey bro I have a problem I downloaded a file from Google and accidentally extracted it to downloads and it modified all of my downloads from when I bought a computer... how can I unmodfy or change back to normal that? Pls help it destroyed all of my games and other downloads (it is set to open with notepad)

thanks, however, the Downloads folder reverts back to having Grouping ON even though I've selected None. Any suggestions?

i usualy fix all thoses littles things but aww man.. For a while that i'm trying to find the setting to achieve ! thanks a lots dude, you really make my life easy and now i can fing my file in secounds instead of browsing the painful files grouped in this folder :) sometime windows.. you know.. the good xp version was not that bad in fact haha
