The embarrassing TF2 Bot Crisis

Team Fortress 2 is completely unplayable because of a mass Bot attack, Valve has responded, but will they do ANYTHING to fix the problem? Yes. Is TF2 a Dead Game? Probably, but it's still fun okay.

I feel it necessary to clarify that the 65, 000 number you came to is heavily inflated by trading bots, not cheating bots. That being said, the cheating crisis is significant, but it probably doesn't make up any more than say 25-50% of that number.

In South Africa we haven't been able to access flying scoutsman in csgo for about 6 months now. A group of hackers took the server over and immediately kick anyone who joins. We have written multiple emails to valve, but still nothing has changed.

They spoke about how underwhelming last major update did (financially), and never had a major update since. Valve Tweet about a fix, but I won't believe them until I see action.

Could be similar to what happened to the other TF2 (Titanfall 2), where it was just one guy who raged hacked to ddos the servers so no one could play, effectively killing the game. Team fortress doesn't deserve this and I hope Value can do what Respawn could not <3

I discovered TF2 as a kid because my dad used to play it a lot. Now he doesn't play video games anymore but I keep him updated on the bot situation and I'm looking forward to telling him if and when the bot problem is fixed.

Guys, please remember that cheating bots aren't the only kind of bot that exists in TF2, there are trading bots, idle bots, storage bots, spam bots, etc. Bots were already here since the beginning, so when you guys say that "we have a big player base, the bot problem started at 2019"... no, we already had bots since loooong before that, just not the kind of bot that you think of.
Edit: also warowl, making the game paid would kill it, there are a lot of new players every day that come to the game, they play, but they don't stay because of the bot problem, I remember in older days playing with a lot of new players that didn't have more of 10 hours into the game

Thank you so much for making this. it's sad that it has to come to this, but at the same time it's heartwarming to see how passionate people are about the game, and it's even better to see how a lot of people that don't even play the game are trying to support the movement for everyone else
