I have stayed in kerala for 20 yrs.
Kerala is a place with lots of communal harmony.
People are peace loving and civilised and educated and law abiding citizens.
There is no such place in entire kerala.

Malappuram is one of the best districts in India. The majority of the population are Muslims, but if you ever visit Malappuram, it’s truly an extraordinary experience. The love, brotherhood, and hospitality of the people are heartwarming. Their mosques are always open to everyone, regardless of religion.

Unfortunately, groups like the BJP, RSS, and other Hindu extremist factions frequently spread false narratives about this beautiful place. In reality, Malappuram is home to numerous temples, churches, and mosques, and its people live in peace and harmony.

Many North Indians know very little about Malappuram and Kerala. Some even produce big-budget films that misrepresent Kerala and Indian Muslims. But Kerala is different, the people are different. With a literacy rate close to 100%, Keralites are well-informed and progressive. That’s why I believe the people of Kerala are unlike those who blindly follow propaganda.

They don’t engage in superstitions like consuming cow dung or urine. For them, divinity is not confined to a cow. Interestingly, many Hindus in Kerala eat beef, and some even fast during Ramadan out of love and respect for their Muslim neighbors.

Onam, the state festival of Kerala, is a shining example of unity, you’ll see Hindu, Muslim, and Christian leaders sitting together and enjoying the traditional Onasadhya meal.

But in some parts of Kerala, a few Hindus have been influenced by the hateful rhetoric of RSS and BJP, but the majority, especially in Malappuram, are kind, compassionate, and inclusive.

As a Kerala Muslim, we don’t pay attention to hate-filled channels or speeches. We don’t let such negativity affect us. Critics label Kerala as a 'jihadist' or 'terrorist' state simply because the Muslim community here is politically aware and active, from the time of Gandhiji to today. There are no BJP or RSS members in Kerala’s legislative assembly, and only one in Parliament. This lack of political influence is the real reason behind their frustration and Islamophobia.

But the real question, what’s happening to Muslims in several North Indian states?
