When I became a conscious accepter of Islam this year, even though I was born into a (barely practicing) Muslim family, I said my shahada in tears and with repentance. All these decades, I never prayed because I honestly didn’t truly believe. I was a ‘Muslim’ agnostic. Basically living a Kafir lifestyle. So this past Ramadan when I was somehow guided to accept Islam, I was really a revert. I had to relearn everything. Wudhu, prayer, rules, everything. Took me the entire of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah I can say I’ve been blessed to slowly be able to pray my 5 fardh prayers with good consistency and feel great doing it.

I wouldn’t think I’d need to repay all those years of prayer if I was actually Kafir at the time, right? But what do I know, I’m just a new willing accepter of my servanthood.

I think if ALLAH can forgive a christian after many years of shirk, ALLAAH forgive many years without praying

As far as i know, you cannot make up a salah that you missed out from, it was to be done that day at that time of prayer, remember salah has expiry time, the only thing to do is, make istighfar, don't miss your salah, add sunnah salah and qiyamullail, improve on your salah, coz you missed alot of it.

As far as I know there is an Ijma on the fact that u have to make up every prayer no matter how many. Can somebody explain to me if thats really the case? Because I dont see the sense in it, that if u repent and try ur best, that Allah still needs u to make up prayers when u already repented.
