8:45 made me a subscriber. Its all about perception. A 2 and a half foot putt is just as important as a long fairway-finding drive. Absolute gold.

“The 54 deg is my 110 yard club”. Coincidence - it’s my 110 yard club. In fact I can hit all my clubs 110 yards. Or less. Or more. Right or left. Take your pick.

There's a lot to be said for course management. So often we want to hit the big stick and don't consider the hazards or ball position.. Great video Matt !!!

So true, after lockdown I started using 5 wood off the shorter par 4s and it made a massive difference to my score

When I decide to take 3 wood/hybrid off the tee I always end up topping it and going about 70 yards.

Matt: "You don't need to hit driver on every par 4. Just hit it 230 yards"

Me: "230 yards? Driver it is then"

Your first point made me laugh Matt. I always used to tee off with my 3 wood/hybrid/3 iron because i couldnt hit driver to save my life. Then a few months ago i watched your video on how to stop your slice with your driver (id watched loads already but none was working for me), however the coaching points that you gave really helped me and after a bit of work i am now a lot me accurate with driver and dont slice it anywhere near as much as i used to. However, now i am topping my woods fatting my long irons and im not sure why!? 🤣🙈🤦‍♂️

Great advice as always. I played 9 holes saturday didn't take my driver out the bag once. 4 hybrid every tee shot on par 4s & 5s. Shot 6 less then the time before and I wasn't playing paticularly great. Same score as a few weeks before when I was really hot with my short game that day. Can't underestimate how important course management is especially for us not so great golfers

Great advice! I saved a Par 5 the other day by putting not chipping. I was having an absolute nightmare and it took me 6 shots to get to the side of the green, then an absolute worldey of a 20 foot putt straight in for 2 over par!!! Ill take that all day long

Hi Matt, this is where you are the best: strategic advice and how to avoid traps on the course or in my mind! Thanks a lot and stay safe!

Great lesson on the mistakes that happen on 4's. I have begun to think about the approach shot to the green and work from there. IF I use this club, I will need that club to get on the green. This has allowed me to better utilize fairways and hybrids off the tee where I used to be driver, driver, driver. Thanks for taking the time to get course management at the front of the game....not just blast it far.

This one got me thinking about how I play every hole on my local course and to be honest there are a few holes where I should be using a 3 or 5 wood instead of driver and going for position rather than distance.
Great tips Matt - many thanks.
Cheers
