She's exactly the sort of person who if she'd been around a hundred or more years ago would be attributing precisely the same things to "the second coming", "the end times", and "the impending apocalypse". They're too dim to know why natural phenomena actually happen, all they can do is try clumsily to map it on to the dominant religion of the time, and today, that's "the climate catastrophe".
