This cycle is the deadliest thing that can happen to ants, and they cannot escape this terrifying spiral, called a "death circle," until they die. Ants follow the pheromone trails left by other ants, but when a lead ant encounters an obstacle or loses its way, it must follow another ant. However, if it starts following a trailing ant, the entire colony begins to walk in circles, following each other endlessly. Each new ant that joins the circle strengthens the effect by increasing the pheromone trail, and since ants lack reverse gear, they continue to move in this hopeless circle until they die of exhaustion. So, when a leader loses its way, it dooms all the ants that follow it. That's why this cycle is the deadliest event that can happen to ants.

Just put a sheet of paper and block the circle, then maybe a little snack for the exhausted ants at the end
