Rotary cutter I'm thinking. and I just got my press yesterday and came across this . Someone also said to just add your cricut heat press mat for extra pressure. Thank you for sharing.

This explains why my puff vinyl had a crease! It was my first project with the htvront autopress

Hi Marilyn! I tried doing this and it worked. My stuff presses great now. To cut I used a rotary cutter & round edge ruler. Thank you. ❤

I just received my HTVRont and it's still in the box. Now I'll be cutting my mat when it arrives. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this video. I have the Cricut AutoPress and have experienced the same issue. I bought the new heat pad and updated my heat press as well. I did my first project on Thursday and it was perfect!

Hi Marilyn, good morning, thanks for all you do to help us.

Thank you for showing this. I had to buy a second heat press mat, because the first one was getting wrinkled as well. I bought a thick foam mat similar to the one that you have and I am going to try this.

What printer did you use for the DTF hack and did you have to do any modifications to the printer itself for it to work properly with the film or is it still interchangeable with the DTF hack and regular Sublimation printing on Sublimation paper?

Thank you for the tips. I haven't had the same problems so far, but I do have a Teflon sheet taped to the top of my press, so I'm going to purchase the Teflon cover you mentioned.

I just flipped mine and using the bottom side up. So far no issues 😊

Wow this is awesome! I used a protractor for the curved edges and it worked a treat :)

We loved this press when we first received it in January 2023. We only use it moderately (less than 6 items pressed per use per month). Now it is August 2023 and it will not close. It heats up perfectly but when we try to press it closes and pops right back open and the controls start blinking. It has also started making a grinding noise. I contacted warranty support as the press is under warranty, they responded requesting videos of the problems, we emailed videos back, they responded with they couldn't open the videos (they are too stupid to download them and use a player to view them), we uploaded the videos to our you tube channel (cause everyone has one of those) and sent them the links....There response was to give them significant time to troubleshoot the problem and they would get back to me. I’m sure enough time for my warranty to expire. I asked them point blank to honor their warranty and replace the press…Crickets!!!! Others here have complained about these same issues in the reviews. THEY WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!!! I'll update this review if something changes.

Oh, these tips were excellent, Marilyn! I love my HTVRont Heat Press but was I was a little frustrated with adding that extra Teflon sheet every time. My last press I could use the magnets hack and it worked well protecting my platen as well as saving me a few seconds with each projects' final press. So I'll definitely be adding that item to my cart. I have already purchased a dense mat and will be following your instructions for cutting it down to size. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the pressing pad hack. I went ahead and ordered one and I got it a few days ago. I get my heat press Tuesday so I can get fit it when it comes. I wonder why they don’t correct this issue with all reviews that are out there stating this issue. These silicone heat mats are so cheap it would not cost much for them the change out the mats.

I'm so glad that I watched your video. I caused my pad to have a permanent dent from trying to sublimate on photo slate. I had bought a Teflon sheet for the upper platen and the bottom plate as well as the same foam pad you have in your vid. I still had some uneven spots for sublimation, but I felt vindicated that someone had done the same thing as well. However, you took it one step further and trimmed the mat to fit. 🤯Mind blown! Didn't think of that. I will try that and maybe I won't have the cool spots. So far I've added an extra mat for added pressure, and that has helped, but maybe I need to trim the mat so that my projects are on a flat surface. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Marilyn for doing this vid, I am almost ready to order this press as it still has so many good reviews, I will order the two different pads at the same time, thank you for taking time to let us know how this can be remedied to have greater results.

This is great info! Thank you, I just took the pad off my other press and used that on top. Made it more difficult to get shirts in the press. Now I will do this 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💕💕💕

Question: Should I place the new pad in the cover of the one that came with the machine?
