Why the French conquered Algeria

in 1827 French representative Pierre Deval would go to Algiers to discuss trade deals and economic vassalage of the Deylic of Algeria and Dey : Hussein Dey.
the meeting was getting tense and would come to a climax as the dey would strike Deval with a Fly Whisk. the king of France Charles X would use this violence against his diplomat as a justification for war; starting the French conquest and Colonisation of Algeria in 1830

Algeria demanded France to pay its dept and the French councilor said no to the Sultan of Algiers, so he was slapped with a peacock feathered fan and kicked thus the two nations entered into war
