The NEW Qatar Airways FIRST CLASS *Private Luxury*

Come with me onboard Qatar Airway newest First Class offering. In recent years Qatar offered their First Class suite onboard their A380… but given that these are grounded what does flying First Class with them look like today? Well I’ve come over to Doha Qatar to find out just that. I’ll be taking a look inside the newly reopened and refreshed Al Safwa lounge in Hamad International airport, sample them premium restaurant standard food / beverage as well as indulge in the in lounge spa. Yes there’s a hot tub!

If this isn’t enough I’ll be driven to my plane in a luxury Audi, privately across the tarmac to my waiting Boeing 787 Dreamliner. I’m also in 1A today, my seat of choice on such configuration. Yes it’s near the galley but given the heavy curtains, and that this is a day flight I’m not bothered. It also means you’ll get served first, which is always a bonus.

Everyone is trying to also lose some weight that has been gained during this last 1 1/2 year lock down. The best thing that has really helped for me is the 18/6 fasting schedule. After the 6 hour window of eating I brush my teeth because if I don't then I watch channels like yours and see all the yummy food.

I flew first class from Doha to Sydney in November. The first class lounge was closed and there was no transfer to the plane. We queued up like cattle class and it was a very poor experience. The only difference between business and first class is that first class has a much better bed and a bigger toilet. Was it worth it? Maybe…I paid on points so not sure of actual $$$ difference

I think booking a first class seat for a short haul flight is quite useless, as a flyer doesn't get a chance to utilize the hefty sum of money they spend for the seat fully. Due to the short flight time all the perks provided for a first class might not be enjoyed. A first/business class seat suits best for long haul flights which are 7 or 8 hours more and for anything less I think premium economy is preferable. This is completely my opinion, therefore tell me know what you'll think about it :)

according to seat guru, the 787 doesn't have first class, only business and economy. Maybe the same 'tactics' is done in the USA. Business international becomes First regional. and as this is a regional flight with Qatar.

First Class? The seat is a standard business class one, what a scam! (of course the lounge and the services pre flight are excellent but the seat itself is not a first class seat)
