There is something called the hazelwood act for Texans and you go to a Texas College. You should research it

Hi Matt, you obviously don't know me, but I've been watching your clips on YouTube about the Army and all I've got to say is...you're awesome. I've watched a number of your clips and I like them. The advice you've given, your tips, honesty, etc. I'd also like to mention that the advice you gave about not picking an MOS based on the bonus...I totally agree and I'm actually using the same concept for my civilian job. Just so you know, I'm in the Army myself as a reservist. Keep up what you're doing. I listen to it and watch, I it like. KUDOS to you!

Thank you so much for making all of your videos, they are very helpful!
Do you know anything about the Green to Gold program? I was wondering if I got a Green to Gold scholarship if I would have to forfeit my Post 9/11 GI Bill?

Btw, ask the college you apply to if they have any reductions/discounts for military members. Online schools especially will do this. I asked a school about the cost before military and it was 15k total, after adding in military discounts from the school it dropped to 10k.

I accumulated 20, 000 of student loans before joining the army (active duty). I was honorably discharged after 1 year. Would i still qualify for post 9/11 GI Bill? And will it pay off my whole loan?

I'm in the Air Force Reserves and my benefits office said that the post 9/11 applies to reservists as well. We have active duty orders, it's just unlikely that we will achieve the full 100% benefits. In total you would get more money from the post 9/11 towards school than the Montgomery gi bill because of BAH and stipends. The MGIB SR is only beneficial to those who have full scholarships because the money goes directly to your bank account.

Hey Matt, I know you referenced declining the MGIB in writing if you would like to take advantage of Student Loan Repayment, do you know if the MGIB select reserve is different? Is there any way to get both as they are both included in my contract with a sizable kicker. I also realize this video was 2 years ago, just curious what your experience with college aid was. Thanks alot.

SOMEONE HELP!! Does tuition assistance have to be explicitly WRITTEN in your contract or is it for any service member to apply for!? Same for BAH!??? I’m freaking out. Signed a contract and it’s coming down to crunch time with numbers for school after I get out of basic. No idea how much I’m getting.

Can you pass the College Loan Repayment Program onto a family member (to help them pay off school) like you can the GI Bill?

I'm 17 years old and going to bootcamp this November. Since I'm just joining should I go for the Montgomery GI Bill or Tuition Assistance?

Excellent content.
Do soldiers who have served, lets say 6 years, get healthcare assistance for life or is it limited?

The loan is guaranteed, but to pay the loan if you default, not that you will get the loan.

Hey body thanks for your video. I’m about to go to meps next week and I’m enlisting with a degree. I would like to know if even I enlist with my bachelor degree I can still get the fafsa when I will apply for it, and also the tuition assistance.

For the reserves do you have to be a full time student to receive benefits?
