This looks a lot like my exact scenario except my blower motor is up right instead of laying on the side. low overhead shiplap deck, etc you have given me the confidence to give this a try, thanks for taking the time to post PS I'm also in Texas high only in the 80's this week April 2024

Great DIY Video! I only noticed one bobo, the set screw needs to be tightened on the flat that is machined into the end of the blower shaft. More than likely if you tightened it really super tight, it will be fine but if you hear a tremendous noise someday when you turn on your AC or heat it will be that set screw coming loose as it is intended to screw flat onto a flat not a round bar. Also, when you tighten to the round and not the flat it will leave gouges in the shaft and if you ever have to change it again it will be extra hard to remove the fan again. This is the same method used in CNC Milling "End Mill" round shafts also have that machined "flat" for set screws. This I know as I am a retired 40 year CNC Machinist.

I watched 4 other YT videos on this procedure and you are the ONLY one to actually show the set screw and it being removed. I was looking at my AC unit set screw before finding this video being TOTALLY LOST on how to remove it. I didnt even realize it was a simple screw lol. thank you so

Great video... one thing to note... when reinstalling the set screw on the fan wheel, you need to make sure that it tightens down on the FLAT side of the motor shaft.

Thanks for this video. I'm in Texas too and need to change this motor out before it gets hot as balls. You make it look a little less intimidating, especially with the way you were just cramming that fan back in there. I'm over here treating it like a million-dollar faberge egg.

Great video Bo. Wish I had this available a couple years back. BTW, you might want to readjust your set screw so it tightens down on the flat spot of the motor shaft or it may come loose. Ask me how I know.

Noticed the set screw is not aligned with the flat side of the motor spindle. i dont know if its important but saw it that way on another video and seemd to make sense!

Thanks for the video. You were luck that the shaft was not stuck. The all thatdebris on the assembly suggested that the filter is not functioning properly (bypass ?).

Excellent Demonstration. I have exactly Goodman, Amana A/C. I smell smoke. This motor wasn't changed in over 8 Young Years. I had many Mechanics say "Everything is working as should. I Love 💕 my Amana. I just can't pull out a motor. I was also told my Capitator is located on the Roof of Condenser. FL! Also very steamy. Do you happen to know a well established Mechanic to perform this job? It shouldn't be this much if covered with Warranty. Thank You!

Just got s quote for a $1000 🤣, after I saw your video I feel very comfortable to change it myself 👍.
Do I need a specific blower for my ac unit or it's a universal? I have a 20 years old Amana

Nice video. I am having difficulty getting the specs on my old Amana furnace blower motor without removing it first. Mine looks just like yours. Do you remember where and what notor you bought?

Great video. But you need better filters. Mine is 11 years old and really no dust on my motor... I changed my filter twice a year....

@11:42 that set screw has to bolt onto the flat side of the shaft....if not....the shit is gonna spin, eventually.

why is it that most of these videos no one ever cleans the dust out of the unit. you pay more these days for less care and quality.
