You don't have OCD.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations (obsessions) and engage in behaviors or mental acts in response to these thoughts or obsessions.Often the person carries out the behaviors to reduce the impact or get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only brings temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety. A person's level of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if left untreated, it can limit his or her ability to function at work or school or even to lead a comfortable existence at home or around others.

Ugh, why are people always like oh "im so ocd" like no your not you may be a perfectionest but not ocd. Ocd is more than just perfection try having to wash your hands 40 times a day just to releive anxiety or having unwanted thoughts in your brain that you cant get rid of making you feel like you have completely lost control. ( sorry I couldnt stop myself)

I know Caylus likely won't see this, but other people will.
First, I'd like to say that your videos are great and entertaining - keep up the awesome work!

I am writing this comment to clear up a misconception that he made regarding what OCD is.

OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) is NOT "when you want everything to be perfect".
OCD is a disorder in which your brain creates chaos, and you develop an obsession to deal with and control said chaos.

There are MANY different manifestations. For example, mine, since childhood, manifested as stair and step counting, and touching things with both hands (and with sports, holding and rotating the ball several times until it felt "okay" to use (to not perform these 'rituals' would result in an overwhelming feeling of something bad being guaranteed to happen).
If I miss a step, my brain tells me, very convincingly, that something bad is going to happen if I don't start over and make sure I count EVERY step.
And it doesn't make sense, and we know that logically, it makes no sense, but such is the disorder that it convinces you to follow your ritual "just in case".

It manifests in many ways, and being excessively organized or needing things to be perfect is a common one, but definitely not the only one.

My cousin also suffers from OCD and his manifests as, not being excessively tidy, but he needs to line up, in a specific order, whatever it is he's playing with. His does contain some perfectionism in that once they're set up, they need to stay that way until he feels okay to dismantle his work.
If you move anything or interfere while he's setting up, he has to start all over again.

I'm not writing this as a criticism. I just want to help people understand because many mental health disorders are sorely misunderstood, and the only way to solve that problem is by educating.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

- A person suffering from OCD, who also happens to have a passion for psychology and a huge desire to help educate about and destigmatize mental health.

Everyone on the planet doesn’t have OCD, I myself was diagnosed by a psychiatrist and OCD is NOT annoyance or uneasiness caused by out of place objects, OCD by definition is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Obsessions being the trigger, the thoughts, the compulsions being the repeated and ritualistic acts to ease ones painful anxiety cause by said object, etc. OCD is an umbrella word for its types being, Contamination OCD, Checking and ritualistic OCD, and OCD that revolves around order and perfection. Contamination OCD is where one repeatedly washes their hands to ease their overwhelming anxiety of becoming sick, or spreading a sickness. Checking and ritualistic OCD is where one constantly checks common household items, doors, etc, to ease their distress caused by worst case scenario thoughts or intrusive thoughts. Order and perfection OCD is where the sufferers anxiety is triggered by thoughts which cause them to act out and put things in order to release their overwhelming anxiety. There is also Pure OCD which revolves around intrusive thoughts that are uncontrollable and vivid, normally can be followed by some of the other types such as contamination. So if you’re not diagnosed professionally or experience non or little symptoms, you probably don’t have OCD.

Ocd, (Obsessive-complusive disorder) Is a mental illness when people have unwanted repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, obessions, and behaviors that drive the to do something over and over. Often the person carries out behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts. I have terrible OCD, so bad that my unwanted repeated thoughts and ideas keep me from SLEEPING. Caylus, your definition of OCD is actually wrong, its kind of right but not really at the same time?

OCD is a mental disorder in which a person has intrusive thoughts, that they cannot stop, that they obsess over that cause anxiety, and then a compulsion to act on it in whatever way their mind reacts, whatever their mind urges them to do to stop the thoughts. This condition is incredibly painful to deal with in everyday life, depending on varying degrees of it. Unless your want for things to be a certain way is disruptive in your life and cause you actual stress, becoming an probably don't have OCD. Not wanting to be rude, just wanting to edjucate as this mental illness tends to have a lot of myths about it.

THIS IS NOT OCD. ocd is unwanted thoughts and feelings that cause compulsions, which are things that the sufferer has to do to get rid of the feeling. if they don’t do it, the thoughts will build up and they will become even more on edge. it causes a lot of anxiety. these thoughts can really torment someone. that’s the best i can explain it briefly, although the there is so much more. pls don’t downplay ocd, it’s a real mental health issue.

How about you guys do your research before claiming you have a mental condition that you have to be physically diagnosed with and affects 2% of the population. OCD is not wanting things to be straight. I am diagnosed with it and wash my hands like 30 times a day for like 10 minutes each time. My hands crack and bleed and my mind is always full of anxiety. It really offends me when people like to use the term ocd to sound cool when it really destroys your life and can lead to suicide. I hope this inspires some of you to quit claiming you have ocd when you don’t. So don’t believe those stupid OCD tests online because that does not mean you have OCD. People like this really offend me. Thank you for reading: For those who actually have real diagnosed OCD, I hope you get through it, it’s really rough.

OCD actually is much deeper. People with OCD have compulsions, like habits that they have to do to make themselves feel better. (IM NOT AN EXPERT SO DONT DESTROY ME IM JUST SAYIN ITS DEEPER THAN FIXING THINGS)

I have OCD but this doesn't trigger me.
I'll be completely honest with you, this kind of stuff has more to do with perfectionism than OCD.

This is perfectionism, NOT OCD. OCD is a serious mental illness, not a mild annoyance that everyone has. I have been diagnosed with OCD, and this is a big misrepresentation of what OCD is.
