Learning To Throw Left Handed (166 Day Time Lapse)

When the baseball season was suspended earlier this year, I decided to start throwing left handed for fun. It kind of started off as a joke but then I got addicted to it. Currently on the IL due to a broken thumb but I will be back. If you want to follow along when I am back, I'll be posting a lot more on my 2nd channel (link below).

It's cool that you have spent the lockdown time to learn how to throw left handed, I've spent my quarantine time learning a knuckleball

That's insane dedication. I don't think you would have seen such progress if you didn't take it seriously and skipped days, etc.
I admire your motivation.

Amazing video. I remember when I was learning with my right hand & now I throw about 70 on both arms. Great journey man. Just the start

I’m 47 and had right shoulder surgery and right handed dominant, and not I’m learning to throw left handed, it’s a challenge. But I like what I saw the different reactions on pitches. Thank you

About 8 yrs ago I was in a car accident and I can't even lightly throw a snowball right anymore..tough for a former pitcher..so I've been toying with this idea of learning lefty..I know the mechanics- just practice..doubt I'll get it back up to the 70s but still it would be nice to throw again.

You really thought you could just post a video of Pat Venditte and get away with it?

I just started. I think the wrist has to become fluid. I feel very mechanical. Congrats, cool progress

I ended up getting injured as a 12 year old. By age 14 I was playing first base left handed. I still throw left handed to this day due to my right still being weak and injury prone.

You’ve improved a lot since you started

It really helps to work on the "cock back" motion...like try to practice mirroring the dominant hand as you raise the ball up, once you get it to the correct spot it releases a lot easier

Impressive progress
Do you think you have strength in that left arm throw now (well, not while on the IL) ?
Might get called up by the Jays as a switch pitcher ... wouldn’t that be something, although the wild pitches a bit of a worry
Go Jays

Jesus Christ I’m doing some of the opposite hand in the house with pillows at my kids and I don’t think it counts as abuse based off my appearance throwing 🤣😂

Hell of a challenge my dude. Well done. You look rather natural by the end of it. A couple questions come to mind if you have a moment to respond.

1.) How many pitches per day did you throw with your left hand?
2.) About how far away are you typically from your stop net/target?

Reason I ask: My 9 year old son is trying to switch hit, so I'm trying to help him develop that skill by conditioning my ability to throw left handed to him when he practices as a right handed batter.

Damn. Im going down this road but for a forehand right hand in disc golf. Nicely done

Is it hard for people to learn to throw with their non dominant hand because I never had a problem with throwing with both

Interesting and impressive. Hope you get better soon🍻. How much would you say you have improved % wise from day 1? Have you been intentionally using your weak hand for other "things" in daily life? 😅 no way to ask without someone thinking "sinful" thoughts 🤣 but i mean writing, washing dishes, typing ...
