Black Myth: Wukong - How to Ride/Tame the Giant Beetle in Chapter 6 and Not Fall Off

Quick guide on how to ride the giant bug Feng-Tail in chapter 6 of Black Myth: Wukong game and how not to fall and how the QTE works in order to stay on the beetle until the end. Thank you! Developers did so bad job of explaining "what they want", so I think it is stupiest idea in this game. I hold R2, lable "hold R2" disapper, and after few secs shows again. I was thinking that I need to stop holding R2 and press and hold it again", but no developer just lied to me. And as after fail you cannot just restart - you need to "heal up because you lost HP, catch this bug again" - it was just annoying, and not interesting.

While this was not technically a boss fight, this was one of the most difficult “bosses” you has to deal with. After almost 4 hours of doing everything mentioned in all the YouTube guides about this “boss fight, ” these are paramount to make this work:
1. Be sure you do this on the first jump location,
2. Activate the stamina and burn resist potions (before the first time you grab him)
3. When you see clutch, Tap on the button instructed and let go, mine was X on the xbox controller,
4. When it says clutch again, press the button and don’t let go (keep pressing)
5. Basically don’t let go of the button on the second and third jump,
6. On the final phase, before you clutch again, activate the fire protector shroud, m.
7. Press the button again and don’t let go until the cutscene.

Good luck. I hope this part gets patched to make it less frustrating.

The main thing the game doesn't tell you is that you MUST hop on his back at the right location! Go to the shrine by the yellow tree and wait. He'll appear on a ledge above. Begin there.

Fireproof mantle is KEY for the 2nd phase. I watched several videos and tried over n over, used curios, gourds, drinks, soaks, sparks, meds. Name it, i tried it. Never had a problem with having enough stamina. Just couldn't get past the burning. First attempt with using the mantle and it never even touched my health bar, like i was mc hammer or something.

Just use the vessel it will make you fire proof you will not lose one hp 😊

Start at a save point near some golden looking trees and wait for it to land near there, thats the start of the cycle. When you save it's to the right a big circular looking mound. Equip any thing fire resistant and hp boosts.

For riding the bug the best thing is defeating all the frogs and you guys will get a "Celestial Birthstone Fragment" with this you won't get any damage and can defeat or ride any enemies without getting any damage at all

just use the fireproof mantle and burn res pill right before you hold on for the final hold and you will pass it easy
youll take no damage

When he first jumps I can hold on but the second jump keeps making me fall I have 390 stam?

just use the vessel fireproof mantle for the second clutch and GG`s 0 DMG

it doesn't seems to be working everytime i hold it it just pushes me back when it lands and i have to press hold again everytime and after the second time it will do a double jum, p and by the 4th jump it will knock me back again.

Just use the fire proof mantle vessel and you will take no burn damage for the second part.

Would have given this game 5 stars, regardless of the janky hitboxes and stilted dodging... this, right here... put it down to a 3. DO NOT PUT INCORRECT BUTTON PROMPTS IN YOUR GAMES. Also, having to start the ride at a specific spot with no indications whatsoever is SUPER UNCOOL.
