Fiery Debate Between Sanju Verma And Chetan Bhagat Over Rahul Gandhi | India Today

Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, said the country is today trapped in a 'chakravyuh', which is represented by the Lotus symbol (of the BJP).

Rahul Gandhi also alleged there is an atmosphere of fear in India.

"India is trapped in a 'chakravyuh' represented by the Lotus symbol that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wears on his chest," the Congress leader said.

Never seen Sanju Verma as rattled as today. She went hammer and tongs at Chetan who simply refused to be provoked. When you get personal rather than refute the points, you have truly lost it. She said Chetan past his prime. You could say that about Modi as well. His winning margin in Varnasi came down drastically. He couldn't lead the party to an emphatic victory. At seventy-five, Modi is not going to get any younger. Into his eleventh year as a PM, he can no longer blame the Congress for the ills besetting the country. All that she can say in defence is that GDP is on the rise. It's true it would have risen even in the reign of Congress had it jettisoned it's socialist baggage and embraced capitalism unabashedly. In fact the foundation for the upsurge in GDP was laid by PVN and MMS of the Congress. GDP growth alone cannot be the indicator of the progress of a country. There is an unprecedented exodus of the youth from the country, which means the GDP growth hasn't brought about any change in the lives of the middle classes and lower strata. BJP seems to have run out of steam. We need a change of narrative at the helm.
