Japanese Chin

Показать описание
The Japanese Chin was developed in Japan in the Middle Ages, after crossing the Chin breed with small spaniel dogs, like the King Charles Spaniel or the Tibetan Spaniel. First breed members travelled to Europe in the beginning of the XVII century with Portuguese sailors who presented the Japanese Chin to Princess Catherine of Braganza. Later, in 1853 the American warship brought from Japan a pair of Chins to Queen Victoria.
In the Chinese language «chin» means a «separate being», not a «dog»(inu). The breed is also called the Japanese Spaniel.
The Japanese Chin was developed as a companion dog, serving mostly as a gift to foreigners or nobility, who somehow rendered service to Japan.

Of course the name is Japanese. The word chin's linguistic evolution is as follows. When the prototype of the dog was brought into Japan, the dog was simply called 'chi-i-sa-i i-nu' meaning 'small dog.' Then the name was clipped to 'chi-nu' and finally got settled as 'chin.'

Does anyone know if this breed likes to sit in your lap? I have had a Peke for years, and he gives me 5 minutes lap time, then starts squirming and panting cause he’s too hot.

This breed is horrible. I don't know how people can say this dog are cute or beautiful. Look at their face: brachycephaly,
large wide-set dark eyes (like a toad), a very short broad muzzle, ear feathering (like a creepy clown). The sound that they make is hateful and noisy.
This kind of dog, in my opinion, is just for fanatic people
