My favorite rpg music aesthetic is a blend of Celtic flutes or Nordic fiddles with stuff like the Erhu or Shakuhachi... And my favorite chord progressions are deceptive cadences where the bass goes low and the turns what would be tonic melody and harmony notes into upper extensions...
needless to say I like what I'm hearing a lot!
