44:46 Oh man I can't believe how much I love the Dali Town Theme from Final Fantasy 9. Brings back memories of childhood and actually feeling safe and cosy as a kid when I played through this section. Beautiful art and storyline in this town too.

The number 30 ("Kids run through the streets") is probably my favorite town theme of all time. Beyond nostalgia, it fills me with a feeling of peace that I cannot express in words. The second is probably "peaceful days" (number 14), for a similar reason. I used to have it as an alarm, and it helped me wake up in a good mood every morning.

#42 is from Phantasy Star 3, not Phantasy Star 2.

Also, not a single town theme from Trails, Lunar, or Grandia. :(

A good town should be one you enjoy exploring

Kingdom hearts twilight town is a fun one as it grows in narrative as you continue the story.

Tales of xillia 1 and 2 I really enjoyed this one area of Xi'an du where it's a mess when you first get there but on replays it's fun to explore.

Tales of the abyss the main kingdom you start in like xillia is a mess at first but slowly you get to know it on replays everything is easy to find got you.

Tales of Graces litteraly every town is fun to walk around in being overhead view.

God of war 4 had a better system to let you return to old areas and the place near your house is fun to see hold more secrets.

Genshin impact all the towns are fun considering you can glide everywhere

Ff 7 remake the whole game is basically one big town to Explore and get to know the details and people.

One I recommend, is Wakeport from Mario & Luigi Dream Team, I have loved it for years now, the dream world version is also super nice and relaxing

This is an excellent video compilation! As a note, #42 is the town theme from Phantasy Star 3, not two. But it is a nice track nonetheless.

Although I can't lie, it's pretty insane to me to not even have 1 single theme from the entire Pokemon series in a top 50 town music list.

To each their own I guess, but man... even if you're not a Pokemon fan, in terms of just pure musicianship some of the Pokemon town/city themes are some of the catchiest tracks in gaming history period.

This is a great list but there are so many amazing jrpg town themes that 50 isn't enough. Colony 9 from Xenoblade Chronicles, Grand Chokmah theme from Tales of the Abyss, Luca from FFX, Rabanastre from FFXII, all of the Bravely Default town themes, to name but a few.

Village of the Dog God is such a relaxing yet emotional track. Twilight Town is another great track from Covenant.
