Jonny White - Dominatrix (DJ Sneak's Women Beat The Drum Mix)

Показать описание
No19’s debut release saw this Canadian label gain an instant respect with DJ’s such as Carl Cox, MANDY, Tenaglia and Garnier, who all leant their support to Jonny White’s ‘Rainsong’.
Now No19 Music and Jonny White return with a release that is looking likely to become one of the big underground records of the year!
The superb ‘Dominatrix’ (original) is a deep, percussive and extremely bass heavy techno workout built around the classic “Women beat their men” vocal sample from 1984’s ‘The Dominatrix sleeps Tonight’. A brooding and atmospheric record that is the perfect follow up to Jonny’s last single and again displays his outstanding production skills.
The remix package is almost guaranteed to have something for any fan of electronic music and features two dance music legends in the shape of DJ Sneak and Stacey Pullen…
Sneak’s ‘Women Beat Their Drums mix’ is a massive slab of b-line driven house with shuffling high hats and bongos overlaid with warm Rhodes piano lines whilst Pullen delivers a piece of Detroit techno that is truly inspirational…it has been years since the world of electronic music has been treated to a truly rare Stacey Pullen remix and the Detroit legend does not disappoint here.
Alongside these two titans of production we also have a mix from Kenny Glasgow, a North American techno legend who turns in an outstanding piece of deep, brilliantly- stripped house…a small glimpse at what we can expect from his forthcoming artist album on No.19 Music set for release in 2009.
Sitting alongside these are mixes from Nitin (GEM events, Circa, Toronto), who delivers a tribal tech house ANTHEM and Teeloo who reworks ‘Dominatrix’ into a dubby, abstract soundscape. To cap it off Jonny also turns in his own alternative ‘Choke mix’, a rumbling deep house cut with a warm hypnotic groove to it.
It is a rare thing for a label to come along and instantly grab the attention of DJ’s and the record buying public alike, but it seems that No19 Music is set to do exactly that and with an extremely impressive schedule of music ahead this is without a doubt one of the most exciting record labels to emerge in recent years.
