Tips for 2022 and newer Volvo Cars equipped with Google built-in are capable of connecting to wireless services in a number of ways.

Your Volvo comes standard with connected services enabled by a built in SIM card and a wireless data plan that enables Internet access for Volvos with Google built in.

Google Automotive services are complementary for four years. Should your wireless connection ever be interrupted due to driving in an area where you may be outside of our service providers roaming area or you may simply prefer to use your own service provider instead, there are two ways you can connect or tether your Volvo to the Internet.

To ensure features such as embedded Google Maps, Google Play, App Store, and more can be used.
One way to do this is to connect your Volvo to an available Wi-Fi network. The 2nd way is connecting your Volvo to an available connected device via Bluetooth.

Here's how. First, let's learn how to connect your Volvo to the Internet through an available Wi-Fi network.

From the home screen, locate the Settings icon in the lower right of the screen and select it. In the Settings menu, locate and select Connectivity.

You should see three options and the connectivity screen. Find and select Wi-Fi in the Wi-Fi screen.

You will first want to turn on the Wi-Fi by selecting the toggle switch in the top right of the screen. When it is turned on, you will see a blue status bar move left to right at the top of the screen indicating your Volvo searching for available Wi-Fi Networks.

This may take several seconds. Once complete, all available networks, whether secure or not secure, will be displayed. For this demonstration, we're going to connect this Volvo car to the available iPhone network.

This iPhone has the Personal Hotspot turned on. This needs to be done first before it will show in the display as an available network.

In the case the network you are choosing to connect to is secure, you will be prompted to. Enter that network's password on the screen.

Once you have the new network and password will be stored in your Volvo for future use.

Now select the network to connect and bypass your Volvo Cars built in connection. Once successfully connected,
you will see an additional Wi-Fi connection icon to the right of your Volvo Car Cellular Data Status icon. You can now use your Volvo Cars connected services.
Now, let's learn how to connect your Volvo to the Internet using a connected Bluetooth device in the car. Once again, access the Settings menu and select Connectivity. On the connectivity screen, select Bluetooth.

Note that a Bluetooth connection cannot be established while the device is connected to the USB port and running

Apple CarPlay. To enable Bluetooth, disconnect your iPhone from the USB port. If you have not paired a Bluetooth enabled device to your Volvo car before, you will need to pair the device you would like to use first. Please watch our. Neo on Bluetooth pairing on your

Once paired, this and any devices you have paired previously will be displayed. Note that the phone and media icons are displayed in blue, which means they are enabled, but the Bluetooth tether icon is Gray, meaning it is not enabled.

Select the Bluetooth tether icon to enable it. When you do, you will be prompted to accept the connection and check your. Connected devices settings to ensure it can be used in this way.

Now you will see the Bluetooth tether icon is blue and your connection was successful. In additional Bluetooth tether icon will now appear to the right of your Volvo Cars Cellular Data status icon. You can now use your Volvo Cars connected services.
