The reason people ask how to do a swap before they buy the car and the engine is so they know what they're getting into before they commit money to the project

Best LS swap video that I've seen. Detailed, straight to the point without all the extra talk and useless rambling. Looking forward to your other videos. Thank you.

TLDW Basics-
*Engine:* 2001+ 4.8/5.3/6.0 ; try to find the most complete you can. Try to find a "complete pull out"
*Motor mounts:* Buy or make whatever is out there for your car already. If its a unique swap, you're on your own to design.
*Transmission:* Auto 4l60 (lower power build) /4l80 ; Manual T-56 (from GM vehicle), NV3500/NV4500 (not for racing), *TH350/TH400(requires mods), avoid 700R4/200R4
*Engine/Trans control:* Get harness and ECU with your engine (pay to convert or do it yourself), Megasquirt/Holley Terminator
*Fuel:* Electric fuel pump (255LPH), fuel regulator depends on intake style (returnless or return)

Exhaust Manifolds that fit - Custom of premade for your swap
Oil pan that fits - Lots of options for swaps

Nice video. I am a backyard guy working on my car as a hobby on weekends and came across this video, I am gathering as much information as possible on my future project which is converting my Toyota Prius V ( that's done 200, 000 so far and still running strong) into regular gasoline gas under $1500 by putting Toyota Yaris or Corolla engine into it some day when the hybrid battery gives up. I prefer gasoline because I take a lot of road trips and fixing a gasoline car is easier than hybrid car if it ever breaks down in a no man's land. Thank you, I subscribed.

Thanks Jovani Dante Griego, I had a 54 Chevy 3100 with 283, sold it now I have a 58 Chevy Apache with 235 and have the means and time to put in for LS swap. This video gave me the confidence and know how (somewhat) to do so, at least the steps to take to get there so thanks for this Brotha.

For anyone looking at T56s: I think it would be useful to mention that corvette T56s are difficult to work with and that's the reason you generally find them cheaper.. Corvette T56s use a different tailhousing as all of them use torque tubes rather than driveshafts. To convert these particular T56s to use a driveshaft requires a lot of work and money as you have to mess with the internals of the transmission.

Generally, you can look up the # on the plate of a T56 to find out what vehicle it came out of, but corvette T56s are easy to tell apart from ones out of other cars such as F-bodies because there is no tail housing (more square in shape, and a shaft sticking out the back with splines) whereas other T56s have a tail housing (more tapered rear, connection for the driveshaft rather than a spline shaft that the torque tube slips onto.)

One of the biggest issues with swaps is the need to remove VATS (vehicle anti theft system) from the computer. This can now be done using LS droid to pull the stock flash and software like EFILive or HPTuners to remove vats right at home. No more needing to spend $600 on hardware or sending it to some shady ebay guy that takes 6 months to return your computer.

Great video! I was wondering what would be the simplest turn-key swap you could make. Thanks for taking the time and clearing up some basic things! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I appreciate the vid bro!!! Looking forward to more in the series, don't worry about the length. The details need to be covered and I learned a lot.

If its from a truck and going in a car:
Intake and oil pan/windage tray are almost always a must. Wiring harness engine mounts and headers become the next challenge. Radiator also can be problematic. Ac and ABS might need to be relocated/removed.
