Not Yuanhang! They've been my favourite car brand ever since I first heard of them a few minutes ago.

Never heard of this brand, never seen any on the road. I am in Shanghai, China

I asked my Chinese locals, he asked me WTF is this? They answered my question.😂

Big deal. Yuanhang as a car brand is only 2 years old, sold less than 5, 000 cars from start. It's a failed investment project for Dayun group, which makes commercial trucks. People often say making EV is easy, but having a product is just the beginning of an uphill climb, it doesn't guarantee success.

I was in Shanghai a few months ago and spoke with my regional office. We discussed EV's and they said there are way too many Chinese Ev companies, and by the end of 2024 there will be a major shakeout / consolidation.. not surprised.

History repeats itself once again. Every time there is a major shift in technology two things happen. Most of the companies invested in the old technology go broke unable to move to the new technology and make enough profit to keep going. It happened in 1910 when Ford bought in mass production with many brands failed because they were set up to hand build a hundred or so cars a year and didnt have the investment to set up a mass production line and it is happening again with the move to EV. Even large auto makers are struggling to profitably make the shift with VW and Ford both reporting that they are unable to make a profit on EV's.
The second thing that happens is that with a new technology there is always a plethora of wide eyed startups appear with hopes, dreams and no idea of how to make it work. There is a blood bath which leaves the fittest in the race.

Viking it's not unusual for relatively unknown companies to go bust. But saying 'there is too many car brands in China' needs to be rethought. Could Finland support it's own car brand? Sweden? Italy? The population of China is the equal of 250 Finlands, 133 Swedens, or 24 Italys. Point being there is enough market for a lot of car companies in China. But if they aren't popular they don't survive

Why you show imaghes of NIO if is not bankrupt?

This must be a tiny player in the EV market. Nobody even knows who they are. HiPhi are much better known but had such a niche market they couldn't sell may cars. This is simply not big news.

Hundreds of brand are killing each other in china
Winner survives and come to oversea market
That’s why those Chinese Evs we having here are good and cheap

Don't want cars that won't be around to supply spare parts, honor warranties and provide software updates etc.

But where will Stellantis get its EVs now?

This happened in the UK. Too many companies competing. Some merged some died. This is actually progress.
