They are basically the same movies They just each took a different path. One took a cartoonish and light tone(Baby Driver). The other is a dark stylized noir movie(Drive). Of course the stories changed in order to fit the tone.

Two similarities I found from Baby Driver and Drive are that both films opens with a sweet car chase, where the bank robbers are robbing a bank and the driver drives them out of there, escaping the cops, and end up inside a garage. Also, both drivers don't help the robbers steal what they are stealing, they just drive.

I've just noticed some similarities in these two movies:
- Both lead actors appeared in tragic teen movies (Ryan Gosling in The Notebook, Ansel Engort in The Fault in Our Stars)
- British actresses play the love interest (Carey Mulligan in Drive and Lily James in Baby Driver), and their characters took their job as waitresses
- Hispanic actors in supporting roles as criminals (Oscar Isaac in Drive and Eiza González in Baby Driver)
- Both films featured Mad Men stars (Christina Hendricks in Drive, Jon Hamm in Baby Driver)
- Crippled father figure (Shannon in Drive, Joe in Baby Driver)
- Opening car chase scene, evading police and ended in parking garage
- The protagonist are often referred as 'kid' at some point

Ryan Gosselin's character in drive was referred to as "the kid"

maybe baby is the kid.
i mean, baby did want to move out west.

Also in both movies, the love interest is a waitress and the first time we see her she is walking past the hero, and he notices her, but she doesn't notice him.

I saw "Baby Driver" at the cinema when it came out and I really enjoyed it, it is one of my favorites movies of the last years.
And today I have watched Baby Driver for the first time.
I really love that movie! And I have been thinking for a couple of minutes how many similarities they have.
I think Baby Driver used some details of Drive as inspiration to make a funnier and more enjoyable film, so thats good!
Then I searched on Youtube "baby driver and drive" to see if someone have talked about this, and your video was almost everything I was thinking hahahahaha
Nice video 👍

PS: I cant tell which is the best, because they are awesome in different ways

Another PS: sorry for this shit english (if someone is reading this :D)

Nice one. What about the reverse manouver? Both films have it. Also baby pushes de villain car down just as drive does it with Ron Perlman`s character.

I think it's the same character in both...However it's showing him at two different period of his life. Of course Drive being him older and it appears things didn't workout for him and Debra. Which is why he's all depressed and a loner now. Just an idea. 🙂

One interesting simurality is, and I don't want to say they don't cuss at all, but they don't cuss much. You hear a couple fucks out of them, but that's it. What really draws attention to it is everyone else in the film is like fuck this, fuck that, fuck him, fuck her.

I think Drive is a little darker than Baby Driver. Yes, you get to see Baby Driver kill people as well as the driver in Drive kill people. However, the count is slightly higher in Drive and there's more context. I have a feeling the people Baby Driver killed (2) are the only people he's ever killed. Drive on the other hand while he does carry that "I don't carry a gun, I just drive" standard, he's been in that situation where someone is like motherfucker it's me or you prior to the events you see take place in the film. The elevator scene says it all.

One ironic compliment for Baby Driver is it's a little surprising who he goes head to head with at the end. Most characters are like what the fuck is wrong with this weird motherfucker with his fucking hearing condition, but the character he goes up against was actually nice to him.

Baby Driver even copied the use of PINK on the movies poster and promotional graphics!

ira men. Taxi driver dio vida a drive y drive dio vida a baby drive, es una trilogía que solo entre el titulo y los conductores con personalidades únicas las forman xd

First thing I noticed was the similarities. The similar protagonists, and the emphasis on music and style. I surprisingly liked Baby Driver more than Drive though, and I love Drive.

Baby Driver is a blatant ripoff of Drive. It fucking sucked.
