Hey, rural semi-new player here. I've been playing for 9 months now, and I really like the game. The few players in the region, including me, play the game a bit different than those from the cities. We don't have many Pokeballs, so we simply don't catch everything. We focus more on walking, e.g. for eggs, our buddy pokemon, or walking an hour to claim another gym. And it is pretty fun, it motivates to do more sports, and there's still some progression.

But I agree that buffing remote raids would be cool, since it's very difficult to get enough people for a T5 raid. Generally, more remote gameplay activities would be nice, like trading. And they could improve their pvp system.

I think the biggest problem for me personally is a rural area where there are not many pokestops/gyms. It makes the game less playable and having to be level 37 to create pokestops is a little high. I think it should be around the low 30s to create them.

Niantic is a joke. I'm not giving them another cent. 1 dollar for ANY raid pass is already expensive as hell considering the cost to max a single pokemon.

More of a comment but related to your therapy mention.

I use Pokemon Go as a means of therapy. I use it to get out in my wheelchair everyday but also as mental therapy as well.

I am bipolar 2 and i find when i am out exploring my local city and catching, its very soothing. Its a way for me to connect to my inner thoughts and balance what i’m doing.

I am also Indigenous (Ojibwe) and i have found PoGo has lead me to explore some of my spirituality and expression. My spirit animal is the fox or Wagoosh in Ojibwe and i recently got a tattoo of a vulpix & Ninetails in Indigenous style.

This game is my therapy in many ways and a supplement to my own professionally counselor and other active mental health journeys.

They don't care about any form of criticism. They put out the avatar update and despite overwhelming negative feedback they refuse to change back. Why? Because they spent money and want to show they won't back down to the community.

Hope they bring back remote raids to unlimited and bring them back to 100 coins

The only thing is how dull the raids are and Pokémon spawns i just want more of a variety of Pokémon instead of just one spawn of a certain regional its boring

My man, I LOVE how you're approaching this: "I dislike (blank) and here's how it can be fixed."

Giving that constructive criticism is crucial.

As someone who leaves angry comments online A LOT, I gotta say this is a gem

I think the biggest things I’d wanna see improved is go is a full gym rework, pvp improvements, and more general QOL updates.

For gyms they need a whole overhaul, I think if you revisit a gym you should be able to yank your Pokemon out or swap it to get your 50 coins. I also think rather than have a 6 Pokemon limit you should be able to have values associated with Pokemon so you could put mega or legendary Pokemon in but it might take up 3 space instead of one. I’d also like to see a change where spinning gyms only drop heal items and stops only drop balls, berries and items; I have a few friends who don’t do many raids but they never have healing items bc you get the majority of revives and potions from 5* raids. I think doing this would allow people to get what they need easier.

The other thing I’d wanna see is a full overhaul to master league. Whenever master league is out I’d want to see the option to play full open master league (all origin forms, megas, primals, zygarde, dusk/wing necrozma, crowned forms, b/w kyerum, giganticamax, etc) then also have the option to play ML Premier/Remix. The issue is ML is just impossible to play without spending money, and that’s fine but there should be an alternative option because I want legendaries to be strong but with the power creep lately it’s impossible to keep up. Like there’s 4 if even viable non legendary/mythical in open ML rn something has to change. The other thing in pvp I wanna see is a toggle to switch fast moves in game so you could use 2 fast moves, I’d also like to see them play around with the switch clock like you said.

Finally for QOL improvements, more special trades a day just like too many useless legendaries/com day shinies even if it’s only 2 a day. The ability to store special trades like up to 5 or something, so if there is a meetup I can do more than one lucky trade after maybe only seeing friends once a month, wouldn’t necessarily be more trades just moving them around. General framerate stability and less crashing. The ability to trade raid mythicals (darkrai, deoxys, genesect, hoopa etc). Better egg pools, eggs just feel so useless lately. Changes to raids, make one star raids in person free but don’t put anything too good behind them, move your rockruffs and gibles to 3* raids. 2 free in person passes, 2 special trades, and guaranteed xl candy from trade should all be permanent bonuses imo, I’d like to see them be more creative with seasonal bonuses but these should be staples imo. Please fix the avatar update ik people love their characters and hate them now, especially when bought cosmetics don’t look right anymore, please fix it or refund their coins. Tms need an overhaul. Plenty more obviously as an outsider looking in but hopefully some get addressed.

It's so funny the way spawns work. My GF lives on top of 2 Pokestops but has 3 spawn nodes. I live near none, and have a decent cluster spawn at my house that I've gotten at least 3 hundos from.

Funnily enough, the community they alienate the most is the community that kept Niantic afloat. Yet through the smoke came a great concept that helps others when people are busy irl. Remote raids were that. It's unrealistic to expect everyone to waste $20 of gas to go raid 1 pokemon

I’d love to see what you’re using to film these, they look great! I’d love some minor tweaks, like 10 coins per hour in a gym up to 100/day, ability to hold more than 3 remotes (and changing limits like you mention), more spawns overall (I live in a downtown area and get maybe 5 an hour :|, while going to houses I get 10+), ability to trade remotely with best friends (to get regionals) or more frequent region swaps, ability to buy more egg storage, bring back the increased gift giving/opening, random golden stops, and maybe having a raid hour at some point every weekend in addition to Wednesday night. I’d also say it can be frustrating during special events when you can’t make an easy raid walking route even in a downtown area; I’m sure this isn’t an issue everywhere, but I live in a state capital where we have hundreds of players weekly (and more in adjacent areas) and there’s so few stops and gyms. I know the rural thing stinks but at least really pack cities to make it worth going there!

8:46 paralyzed level 50 player here, if you want it go get it use it as a way to benefit you. I use this app as a reason to go outside and get some exercise pushing around and what not. I always find it funny in some of the groups where somebody will ask for advice and getting around some thing that might be difficult for someone with a disability and it’s immediately met with comments such as “it’s called Pokemon GO for a reason, ” or “find another game, “ and it’s even funnier when it’s from someone whose stats are lower than mine. Like how are you saying something in that manner when you’re getting out play by someone with a disability😂

For me, the fact that Pogo had such a wide player base (from 5 year old Jimmy to 80 year olds and more) is its strength. I’m not sure what that means for PvP (I’m on the tap tap team), but it makes it such a great game 💕

Regarding remote raid passes:
Cap should be left at 5 daily if the price is dropped, but raid hours should be unlimited, so they are more highly incentivised for those with access to them in person, to go & do them.
RRPs should have unlimited stack ability the same as in person passes, as the current method of having to get down to 2passes before you can purchase 3 more for the maximum of 5 stacked passes is ridiculous IMO, the same with having 3 passes in our bags resulting in not getting any rrp rewards.
I also agree the price is way too high for what RRPs are- RRP doesn't guarantee the Pokémon being raided gets caught & they don't have increased shiny rates or anything either, so being almost double the price of in person passes is Niantic greed. ie if they wanted to stop whales- the cap alone did that, if the value of the passes was the sole motivating factor, then the price would have increased without the need for the cap, doing both is Niantic wanting their cake & to eat it too. IMO, they need to either drop the price of passes down to 125 coins (if they insist we must pay extra for not doing raids in person), or at least make the 3 pass bundle much more affordable than single passes ie. 400 coins.

Regarding rural players:
I think rural stops, gyms & spawns should be boosted ie. the fewer stops & gyms per certain area/largest cell size, the higher the item drop rate & spawn rate should be in order to better balance out rural play. It doesn't need to be in line with what city players have available to them, it should just be enough that if a rural area has 5-10 stops & say 1-5 gyms in a cluster or spread out with no other POI around them, then those stops & gyms should allow players to obtain 50% to 100% more items from spun stops & gyms & 50%-100% increased spawn rate compared to what a single city stop or gym would yield per spin.

Regarding PvP:
Honestly- I just wish they'd fix the system as it stands atm. The blasted lag kills any enjoyment when charge attacks don't start until 5 to 20 seconds after you've tapped the attack in which time the opponent is still able to attack at will, charge attack bubbles lagging so the best you can hope for is great or nice attacks, the game crashing or auto exiting the battle randomly- the list of bugs goes on & on... IMO there is no point making a simple system more complex until the simple version runs bug free the majority of the time for the majority of players.
I do think every 10 levels players should rewarded with an elite TM, as playing long enough to reach level 10 atm should be rewarded well beyond what it is lol.

Regarding raid bosses:
I think a week is long enough- after a week hardly anyone wants to remotely join raids, so anyone without a super active local community & living outside of a city can't do many if any raids anyway.
I also think dropping the new raid pokemon the day after raid hour is an asinine decision by Niantic, as doing so heavily impacts in person attendance during raid hours IME. ie. Raid hours on the same day or the day after a new roster drops results in most the local community coming out to raid provided the roster is meta relevant or new, having the raid hour for them days or a week after they've arrived in game results in very few players bothering to attend raid hours at all.
I don't mind older raid bosses coming back in, as newer/lower level players need the dex entries or ability to gather candy for them, I only mind when we get nothing but old raid bosses, with little to no meta relevance for weeks on end. At least if we have 1 raid boss & mega per week (or even if they changed megas every second week for 2 per month), Niantic could rotate through the old bosses quickly enough for newer or lower level players to collect, while still including some of the newer or more meta relevant bosses frequently enough to keep older or higher level players more interested.

Gyms:
I think these need to be revamped- Niantic have almost doubled 100 coin prices in some countries, while at the same time as decreasing the value of bundled & boxed items. Yet we are still limited to 50 max pokecoins daily from gym defending... IMO, even increasing this modestly to 75 coins would be seen as a positive move the majority of the player base & motivate more people to go & place pokemon in gyms daily.

Tasks:
As above- the lack of ability to earn "free" coins in game is becoming a growing issue with the increasing lack of overall value of in game purchases IMO (could be a good topic for you maybe?). Adding coin reward tasks into the game (provided they are fair & reasonable ie. make 3 excellent throws for 5 coins or catch 10 different species of pokemon for 5 coins etc.) would also been seen a positive move IMO.

Possible topic:
As per above, does the current in game value of items warrant Niantic increasing the number of coins players can earn in game? Or do you think we are not there yet?

I just posted this to coun jinsulas video as well, the new player retention needs to considered. We need more catch up events outside go fest/tours. There are enough trios that once a season or so you could push a legendary trio into a raid weekend or a shadow trio during a rocket takeover. Not evey community day is going to improve a pokemon so having a set of bonus that help new players work towards something. A lot of legendary pokemon are missing signature moves that could be useful in the same way the tapu got a decent side grade from theirs. The remote raids are useful for very specific cases such as early access to go fest legendary pokemon. They should drop the bundle to 300-350 coins and make the current shiny lock for non in person pass holders permanent. A release of restrictions on number of remotes on a per season basis needs to be considered as well

Good topic, good video, love this series that you are doing. ^^
I really only started playing PoGo in late november 2023, but I am feeling the game is starting to frustrate me, which is sad as it really is/was/could be a really great game. In my opinion Niantic doesn't seem to really care about it's costumers. Ever since I started playing I have seen so many videos, discussions and articles about how and why PoGo is declining and how to fix/improve it. So the first thing that comes to mind is just how Nianctic doesn't really do ANYTHING that the community asks for. Seems to me they are just giving out updates and changes just as they see fit, as long as they get money or whatever, they are happy. It's a harsh statement but that is really how it is starting to feel to me at least.
I also think that they have loads of improving and bug/glitch fixing to do before they should expand the contents of the game.
Like PvP is so laggy it's madness. Honestly, I have beast PvP-mons, but I lose, time and time again to lagg. I live in a city in Norway so phone coverage and internet aren't exactly a problem here.
Another thing is raids, which are honestly way more buggy than PvP. There are countless glitches and bugs that occur within the raiding mechanic. If you are doing remote, you can get randomly kicked out of the raid as it starts, during, or even after the boss is defeated. If you are unlucky and can't see the gym you raided, you just lost a pass and get no pokemon and maybe no rewards at all. Most of the time it won't appear in your journal that you did do a raid when this bug happens, resulting in no proff to send to Nianctic and therefore no compensations. Money and time lost. This happened A LOT to a friend of mine. I have also been hearing increasly how people can't use their charge attacks in raids, thus loosing the raid, and perhaps spending the pass without receiving anything due to the time going out. Another glitch that has been occuring way too frequently ever since I started playing is the non-registering gems used in shadow raids.
I experienced very early on how you can actually take down pretty much every single legendary shadow with just two trainers as long as you have party power and decent enough pokemon.
However, being just two players in a 5-star shadow raid you need to spend more gems to subdue it that you would normaly. To subdue a 5 star shadow you really only need 8 gems, period.
Many times it takes 9, sometimes 10, and sometimes even more. If it just so happens to glitch so that you gotta use 11+ gems cus of your gems not registering when used, it is utterly imposible to beat the raid boss as you won't be able to subdue it, and it has to be subdued to win with two players, no matter how strong pokes you have. This could lead to some hell of annyoing, time consuming outcomes. If you spend your gems and lose the raid due of bugs, you are very likely to lose the pass, and as you lose gems, you gotta farm new ones first before trying again. This happened to a friend and I on the first Suicune weekend, and we ended up losing up to 4 suciunes cus we both had to grind grunts and leaders to get new gems. Not to mention how I reached out to Niantic Support about what happened, in want of some compensation, but don't you think it took them 5 hours to respond to me. By that time had passed the whole situation was just rotten.
In the end I recieved one regualer raid pass as compensation, when in truth I lost 4 suicunes, 50+ candy due to mega lvl 3 and double catch candy that weekend, probably some 25-30 XLs and not to mention all of the pokemons themselves. This whole series of events will murder your shadow raiding capabilites if you want to grind them with 2-3 players.
I feel a little pissed at Niantic lately. Sorry for the long comment, but I believe stuff like this needs to be shared, also so people can be aware of the risks when raiding, especially shadow raids.
Keep it up Dax! You are awesome! :D
