How to Setup Warcraft 2 in D-Fend Reloaded

Here's how to setup Warcraft 2's abandonware download in D-Fend. I think a lot of people have trouble getting it working, or working properly, so I made this video to help.

One thing I never covered in the video, is as far as I know, the map editor will never work. Anything I've tried, its always crashed on launch, but the game itself works perfectly.

If you don't have any music in the menu, briefing screen and game screen, do this: Start a new notepad file and copy and paste the following into it:

DEVICE Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16
DRIVER SBPRO2.MDI
IO_ADDR 220h
IRQ -1
DMA_8_BIT -1
DMA_16_BIT -1

Then save the file as MDI.INI and save it into your Warcraft 2 drivers folder. That should fix the music, but I haven't figured out how to get the voice on the briefing. Make sure you do not copy another .ini file and modify to do this or it won't work, it has to be a new notepad file.

The D-Fend workaround worked wonderfully.  Little alteration with what I can only speculate is newer version of D-Fend Reloaded, but still worked and can now play.  Thank you very much!

Great instructions and everything worked perfectly! My only gripe is the lack of music (how it seems to be stuck in midi mode), but I'm guessing that the actual music is from the CD itself...if only I would have held onto my WC2 ToD and BtGP discs for...nine years? Ten?

Amazing job finally :D, i had the problem with the insert CD at first but then i deleted all and start again with everything, my problem was i selected G: at cdpath and at virutal harddrive i selected E, so that was my mistake, But thnq :* works amazing

For some reason I can't get it to show me the Virtual HD file. It shows a new user data file which contains everything for the Virtual HD file, but when I copy the War 2 folder into it it doesnt show up in d-fend.... help?
