what’s crazy is when you’re singing in like choirs and stuff in america, choir directors tell you to use british/english diction to make vowels sound more pure and the notes sound clearer; i wonder if it’s the opposite for choirs in britain?

I do this too it’s so annoying I love singing but I’ve been raised and listened to mainly American accents in singing so it’s something we pick up naturally. That’s why I find it so refreshing to hear other accents in singing voices like british and London accents in like punk for example or Irish or Scottish accents

I love Raye. As an american, growing up in a church choir they ALWAYS told us to sing with a British accent to sound more impressive and that’s something I still haven’t been totally able to shake off

This is actually pretty interesting to hear being spoken about.. Even growing up I'd hear some rapping in an American accent, I found so weird, but this happens with singing!

Keep in mind this is a cockney accent. So they pronounce water differently to others in the UK
