I liked Ultraman and Gojira fighting in the background. Very good, comprehensive vid on Japanese uniforms. Looking forward to more.

I love how youve shown the last ditch rifles jamming instead of firing, the attention to detail is great

I haven’t heard the Japanese national anthem since I left Misawa Air Base in 2011. As odd as it may sound it was really nice to hear it again after these years. The JASDF is an outstanding group of men and women dedicated to defending the skies of Japan. I have a lot of respect for them.

こんにちは😀
I am Japanese.About 10:55.
There is no fact that the G36 rifle was adopted by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.
Special forces are using the HK416 rifle.
But the video was very simple and interesting.
ありがとう🙇

"Fighting giant monsters is a JSDF tradition!" I laughed so hard when I saw Godzilla and Jet Jaguar that was a great Easter egg

I suspect within the next 10 years, they might start reviving other branches of their military and start bringing it back to its old strength in order to properly respond to growing Chinese aggression in the region. And it seems the US is also pushing for that since it seems they want a smaller role in protecting Japan all by itself since it also has to help other countries in the region with the same issue.

As Japanese, I liked how they carried the Katana, godzilla ultraman and etc....
It is very accurate and made me satisfy.
Now I am your fan, keep up your great work!!

China: You Japanese could not defeat us during World War 2!

Japan: WE were different and alone! Now we have India, Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, and the USA on our side!

NOTE: the Japanese actually had helmets in 1918, you can look up the model 1918, its similar to Adrian.

PS: this was re-uploaded, bc of some issues and glitches.

Since the boxer rebellion part exists in this video I'm already hoping an entire video gets made

I had the distinct pleasure of serving along side JMSDF forces in 2012-2014. Will you be doing a progression of Japanese Naval uniforms?

You done it again Armchair Historian, another awesome video about the evolution of army uniform. This time it's on Japan, very impressive. I always want to know the color of the Japanese army uniform before WW1 and WW2. Next do a video on the evolution of the Chinese army uniform.

Missed a uniform between 1950 and 1960, it was an OD uniform that tucks just like an OG-107, but is domestically made and designed. To be fair, the JSDF didn’t receive many hand-me-downs and made/domestically produced their own equipment between the 50’s and late 70’s.

*Edit: The uniform they missed is called the Type 65 OD uniform. It would see service and would never be officially replaced by the Type 1 uniform even by 1985.*

I am Japanese. There were some differences and mistakes, but there were very few. It's wonderful to organize foreign cultures so beautifully!
