I would be interested to see Donald Hoffman discuss this with Ruchard Dawkins who believes that Consciousness is an evolutionary abberation .

I can’t help but feel like there is a sort of “anti science, pro religion” sentiment coming from this channel recently. I got that feeling in the video with the Mr. Pinker discussion, and then this about “science can’t do this, can’t do that”

No why because of system understanding system phenomenon. Natural Selection adaptation vs truth explains why measured intelligence like IQ often doesn’t cover wisdom or even more than a very narrow band of intelligence, ie the Ivy League sheeple effect

No. Science can answer why questions...
It's just that you have to really be able to understand the question in order to understand the answer in the first place.

However, people should keep in mind that science was never intended to answer these types of super philosophical- ultimate questions. We gather measurements and basically apply them with the scientific method and that's about it. That's all there is to it. It's it's actually people on YouTube who started this whole idea that science was making grandiose claims in the first place.

Nice animation, but his ideas would deserve more credibility would he stop using Simulation and "VR headset" metaphors... I'll not repeat myself zilionth time (even Curt Jaimungal-also Great mind) understands why such metaphor is wrong assuming he's evoking Berkeley rather than ancient Greek Gorgias... It's sad to watch basically because it was my long standing belief that there are plenty of Evolutionary errors in human cognition and as a very proof I always considered invention of mentioned philosophies that's clear that our cognition is malfunctioning or we wouldn't have philosophers denying physical reality, (I'm not Dualist I'm Neutral Monist).
Now to see it stolen by Simulation Theorist is such a sad thing...

Of course that we "don't see reality as it is" or else I would be seeing Neutrinos, but why idea... "therefore The Matrix is correct"
