Understanding BE DO HAVE: The Master Keys to Success!

I first hear about Be Do Have around a dozen years ago from my my friend Alan Whitton (an awesome mind coach). It only took a few minutes for him to explain the formula but it stayed with me and grew with me over the years.

Today, it is the backbone to all my life coaching and creator coaching work (even if it never gets talked about explicitly) AND is the guiding principle by which I create my own results and life.

I love this topic and will be training on it myself really soon at a large event. Thanks for all you shared.

Nice to watch you again James! There’s something magical yet utterly simple about this BDH model I find. I enjoyed listening to your version of it, it’s certainly got me thinking myself into it that even thinking subsided. That said, I have not found any origin of this model and frankly, I find myself not really bothered if I do or not. For example, we can talk about swimming but if you’re not in the pool you’re not swimming. Yet “swimming” being the active word that carries its energetic doing if you will. It’s a lovely concept/model and would love to hear you talk more on it. Much respect from Dubai, James!

This is such a clear and thorough and thus inspiring explanation of "Be Do Have" and I am grateful to you for this. Thank you very much.

I believe this comes from The Bhagvat Gita. You may find this in many many ways throughout the chapters. It's is difficult to comprehend on your own. Someone with deep knowledge could clarify. I Loved this video. Thank you.

Hi James, i would also like to hear more about the different "doings", and every other mind tech you have 🙂🙏
Thanks for all the good stuff!
(By the way- i lost 15 kg in the past few months, using ALL of what i learned from you and some other creative people, so i can attest that this mind tech sure works well for me! 👍🖖)

I really like this message because it’s easy to understand. I feel like I do follow this. I am a PhD student, and I definitely make much more progress on my research because I am excited about the project. I also view myself as a problem solver/engineer which empowers me to be a good one.

Hey James, Just came across this video and thought you nailed the interrelationship between be, do, have. The flow between the three and the primacy of the “be”. Good stuff!
I think a terrific take on addressing the “ be” aspect of this model is the work of the late Steve Andreas regarding Scope and Category and his self-concept model

Hi James, could you do a video on how to change how we are being. What we need to do, to have what we want is easy but we don't do it because that's just not us. We would like to be that person who does those things but we don't know to change our being so we never do.

Indeed I found that this vision resembles Overdurf’s beyond goals, but still a unique take

Do you use the Be Do Have formula already? Do you have an origins theory?

No doubt. No maybes. A Certainty of self.

Would love to hear about activity action and task!

This is likely wrong, but, is it anything to do with: tasks are things we do to get something; actions are things we do for the sake of the action itself; and activities are things we do because we are that person that takes part in them?

Hi James,
On the one hand I can see the utility of the BDH model, on the other, I wonder about the constraints placed on any new ways of being, doing and having that might be determined by prior ways of being, doing and having. That is, if the choices available to me are inextricably linked to my limited prior experiences what might a first step be in opening up the field of possibility of choice, and, do we really have the free will to make such choices? In addition, who is it that ultimately chooses how to 'be' if there is no thinker of such thoughts? In sum, I have a sense that notions of self, freewill, choice, determinism and uncertainty all play a part in this but don't yet have clearly formed ideas about it. Genuinely interested in your thoughts on this.
Best

And that brought back things I had allowed to slip.
