In this video we take a look at the Unifi access rescue keyswitch. We would want to use this rescue keyswitch in case of a malfunction with the Unifi access hub or a power outage

questions: would you want this on the interior side of the door, exterior, or both wired in series? what keeps someone from just taking it out of the wall and hot wiring it?

Hey Cody. I’m thinking about one of these for a business my wife is starting. We live in Calgary and would need one of these in case the G2 Reader Pro fritzes out on the extreme cold days (below -30). Can you turn the key to activate the rescue keyswitch and then remove the key and replace the cover? ie. Can we open the door for the business for the day, bypassing the G2 Reader, but not leave the key in all day? That would be awkward.

How do you mount it to the door? Isn't it easy to remove screws and just short wires to open door? thanks for answer.

What's the range on this? I don't see why we would need the rescue to right next to the hub

Got mine for a maglock. Gonna try to setup with one of my back doors

So with a screwdriver I can pull this "lock" out, cross the wires, open door, put everything back and there is no evidence of break in?

Strange question but have to ask. I'm going to be doing this setup with the battery soon. I assume the battery charges when on power?

So if the battery dies you're outta luck and have to break in the old fashioned way?

Can Unifi Access connect to a fire alarm system?

I'm surprised it isn't a push button as having keys during an emergency situation might not be likely.

Yikes, better epoxy that thing into the wall real good, it has 3 wires I assume its monitored for tamper?

hello! If I have a battery connected to the system and the power goes out, can I still have card access?

wow.. This is secure?!

Ubiquiti should stop making physical security devices. All one would need to do is litterally rip the rescue keyswitch out of the wall and touch wires like they are in a movie..

This is very poorly designed!

Standard keys witch is cheaper and does the same thing.
