English - Here is former S Class Locomotives S302 and S317 back in Victoria hauling a SSR broad gauge grain train. It's hard to believe that after more than 50 years, these workhorses are still in great shape and actually leading mainline freight services.

This classic back to back locomotive combination of which the S class was known for in it's Victorian Railways days, was filmed between Koorong Vale in Central Victoria and Sea Lake in Victoria's north. You will experience some classic sounds the S class diesel elecetrics are known for in some well know locations.

The old S Class diesels used to haul "The Overland" and the "Southern Aurora" to and from Spencer Street Station, Melbourne!.

I don’t know if we should be ashamed or proud to have these nearly 70 year old S class loco’s in every day use. But where else do you see such a passing parade of aging history.🇦🇺

Victoria is one of the smallest Australian states, but this north western sector stretches on forever. Flat as a billiard table. Then there's wonderful Wycheproof. These S Class used to pass bye here with the blue and gold livery of Victorian Railways. nice to see them back. Nice bit of shooting too. many thanks.

Wonderful video. Love the locos and the great sounds. Fantastic vistas and huge skies. I think I need to get out of Melbourne and do a trip out west. Cheers

Thanks very much. Some classic footage of 2 classic locos and some great locations. And 2 great captures of doppler horn. But if I may be so bold, a little too much panning especially early on; made me dizzy. Set up your classic scene, which you're very good at, even zoom out as the train approaches, but try to be patient and let the train do the only moving from then on; let the whole train pass to give best impression of size and length of rake. A pan to follow the last wagon after it has passed is OK, too. But never, ever do more than one pan in one direction. And for me, the sounds are as important as the visuals, so dwelling to pick up the audio of the receding train after it has passed is the best way to close the end of a scene for mine. Cheers

They look like slightly shorter versions of EMD's E9 and E8 class locomotives with the nose door eliminated
