Green Space and Mortality Following Ischemic Stroke
"Over half of the world's population live in urban areas, and the majority of population growth over the next four decades is expected to occur in cities. Most but not all studies have reported that access to green space in urban areas is associated with improved overall well-being, including benefits related to both physical and mental health."

The Unlikely Health Benefits Of Walking In The Woods
"It's no secret that a walk in the woods can be great for boosting your mood. But a burgeoning group of nature enthusiasts say it can do much more - including strengthen immunity, lower blood pressure, increase your ability to focus, and ultimately lower health-care costs if done regularly."

A Review of the Health Benefits of Greenness
"In this review, we found fairly strong evidence for a positive association between greenness and physical activity, and a less consistent negative association between greenness and body weight."

I feel that straying too far from a more natural way of life in both diet, scenery, and lifestyle choices can be disadvantageous and even harmful. I also feel that the mass encouragement of medicating and treating symptoms rather than getting to the root problems that cause the symptoms is not the right way to go about things either. They say that prevention is the best cure, so ingesting healthy, natural foods, living around more vegetation, and practicing healthy lifestyle choices great strong, healthy bodies and minds that are less likely to develop problems.

So basically, it's not so much nature that's helping these people, it's the exercise, lack of pollution, sunlight, pretty view, and having nice things around the room.

I stopped cycling outside to work out instead in a closed space. My depression came back in six months.

One Christian counselor said any Doctor Who prescribes prescription drugs only without therapy, is guilty of malpractice, and I agree, from my clinical depression it was much much more than taking a pill

I'm 14 years old and I used to be a sociopath but I read studies of how people came over their sociopathic tendencies by eating a type of mushrooms so I went to Mexico with some cousins and friends and I found the mushroom that helped the participants in the studies and I took one bite and within 15-20 minutes I started to have extreme hallucinations of depression, pain, suffering, and joy all at the same time and at the very end I experienced an out of body experience which felt so real to me but thankfully that all worked out since when I came to the USA I went to see my psychiatrist and took a test and now I'm no longer a sociopath

I exercise three times a week, but never go hiking or walk in green areas; am I benefitting fully from exercising three times a week then, or should I seek more "green areas"?

The Lakota people say that a man's heart becomes hard away form nature, they are right. Some people 'get' nature, others need to learn it.

I'm so proud of you for covering such topic! It's not the peak of scientific innovation and it's not some big news, but it's very important and it tends to get neglected. Thanks !Keep it up! :D

It used to be in the past that doctors would recommend a rest in the countryside. I think there is something there for the healing effects of nature and a good rest.

Good title :)! This is very obvious to me: Walk in a healthy forest for a couple of hours and be open. You will feel the difference.
We are animals after all and have co-evolved with plants for about 80 million years. There are so many connections, how animals and plants depend on each other. And a forest is much more than a collection of plants (like indoor plants).
