CAN I CHANGE MY JEWELRY? | Signs Of A Healed Piercing

Along with being asked if I can tell someone if their piercing is infected or not, I get asked if I can tell if a piercing is healed or not. This is a companion video to the one I recently did on signs of an infected piercing. Piercings take time to heal, it's not instantaneous and overnight. It takes a great deal of care to make sure piercings heal properly, but even with the proper steps, it can take a long time. Patience is the name of the game when it comes to healing! Let me reiterate again...I am a piercing enthusiast. I am not a professional and I do not have a medical degree. Seek help from either of those if you're truly concerned.

My piercer said 3 months. I don't get crusties, bumps, or tenderness but! I'm still going to give it 2-3 more weeks

It took 6 months for my lobes to heal, a year for my each of my cartilage, and 2 years for my daith. Apart from my first set of lobes they all still close up really quickly: Daith 30 minutes and it starts, Cartilage 2 hours, Lobes 12 hours.

I've had my helix for over two years and it seems to be completely fine, but whenever I try to finally switch it to a hoop, it starts being bitchy again.

Also it’s totally possible that one piercing and heal faster than the other. I got a industrial bar and one hole is pretty much on the road to being ( almost completely) healed but with the other one it’s still struggling.

Watching this 11 days after getting a helix piercing, knowing damn well I'm not even close to it being healed :)

Is it normal not to feel anything? Had my piercing 4 days ago and I feel weird for not feeling any pain. Though there is a small bump and super minimal bleeding whenever I clean it.

I got my cartilage done almost 3 weeks ago and I don't have bleeding, oozing, crusties or any of that.. Just occasionally it will be tender and slightly hurt when moved during cleaning.

I had my daith pierced 2 weeks ago and it feels like it’s almost healed already. Feels like it’s always been there and I can move the jewellery easily. I’m so pleased as I’ve heard of lots of people that have had infections with theirs!

I got my Rook March 15th last year. I’m still getting crusties. The other 6 I got last spring are fine.

Mine didn't and doesn't bleed, get crusty, bump up, it didn't even turn red when it got pierced, and it isn't tender or swelling and doesn't hurt to sleep with or touch...?? But it still needs a couple weeks to heal nonetheless right?

I never had any bumps, crusties, or bleeding. I got it around 3 weeks ago. It doesn't hurt to move anymore but idk if I can change it yet

my earlobes have taken 6 months to heal... but I'm fairly certain my helix has healed after less than 3 months. It never hurts, there's no bumps, no crusties. I can lay on it with no discomfort. My second lobe piercings on the other hand... I don't trust them. They're fine now, but I've thought that several times before. I'm just waiting for them to start bleeding and hurting again :/

Mine healed in a week. Went back to the piercer, they checked it out and changed it out for me.

So I've had mine in for 9 weeks but I watched people that waited 6 weeks and their ears bled

My helix took a year until I felt no pain changing my piercing, my ears took 6 weeks until they stopped getting irritated and about 4 weeks after that to heal, my nose is completely pain less and had it done a week ago. Didn’t hurt a day after and don’t get any crusties or bumps

I thought my ear was healed, when i tried changing it my ear lobe was bleeding kinda scary to be honest. I had it pireced for 1 month and a half

My nostril closed up after a day when I’ve had it for years. My septum can stay open for months without jewelry. I thought maybe it’s because it’s cartilage but nope because my industrial won’t close either. It’s so weird haha
