Maybe make it a square with lil twigs on it so you can start adding pencil twigs right after

Mix some charcoal powder in it. Helps with ignition and get heat into the mix quickly. Slightest breeze can help summon the flames 👍

If you you melt the pine resin and soak your tender in it, it will water proof it all and it would be less sticky. I usually stuff the mixture into a plastic straw and melt the ends

There is always aluminum cans laying around you can use it to store it and cut the bottom off about 2 inches from the bottom and use it to put your starter in and light it if the ground is wet and damp and you can put the bottom part back on the rest of the can for storage again

Decomposing wood that will turn basically in to powder as you squeeze it in your hands works even better. Can even store it in your bag if you need to. Won’t stick. Although it works best if you can heat up the resin before mixing

If you don't have a tin. Your toilet paper core can work. Crimp the end of your TP core. Put your cedar bark and pine resins in the core. And close the other end of your core. Your core can be used to transport or use it all to start your fire. If you are prepared. The TP core with driers lint, as a Firestarter, works as good. If you don't have cedar anywhere, or pine tree. Vera rod shaving on your lint can help start your starter to light up.

I would use the top of cattails with the pine resin

Maybe mix in some cattail to make it catch the spark easier since I always make my firestarters out of cattail and wax or resin

Pine sap and dandelion and cattail fluff!

You could consider using an empty Rx bottle for a fire kit. 100% waterproof and you can include a silica pack to fight off any airborne dampness.

I love the timbre of your voice. Maybe you could read a camping manual to help some of us fall asleep peacefully. ❤

The only way i can think of "improving" it is by adding some dryer lint, which is what i use for my fire starter

You can make blocks of that stuff, if you can find enough resin by heating it up and mixing it some dry, rotten wood.

I would use the fluff of dandelions or a cat tail to mix with the resin, other then that id say this is pretty good alternative

Ive seen people spool string and soak it in pine tar. Or fox tails/ water reeds. Personally soaked an old cotton rag so i could rip pieces off or make torches. Added a little mineral spirit.

Should make like a soda can crusher to compress it into small puck, or a long cylinder and cut into small disc.

Very informative, I love pine trees,

you can do the same method using a mini muffin plate or an ice cube tray to make it in a shape that you can allow you to carry it like you would your disk.
