This is the most unbelievable outcome. If the Senate saw the recording of Palpatine cutting down a bunch of master Jedi with red freakin lightsabers, it'd be a wrap. There is no way the Senate would ever go this route.

Mace would've been corrupted by the dark side bc he attacked Palpatine with his lust for power. Anakin probably would've sensed this and attacked Windu. With no one protecting the light and no one empowering the dark, the Force would spin further out of balance, and the Clone Wars and even larger cataclysms probably would've raged on until all life was wiped from the Galaxy leaving it empty for the Force to start anew.
