[4K] Starship Flight 6: Watch SpaceX launch Starship!

preview_player
Показать описание
[TIME SUBJECT TO CHANGE] This is the sixth fully integrated test flight of Starship with its Super Heavy booster, the largest and most powerful rocket to ever fly. It produces over twice as much thrust as the Saturn V that took humans to the moon.

The goal of the test is to get additional data while flying a similar flight as IFT-5 in October, 2024. If all goes well, Starship will re-enter in the Indian Ocean about 65 minutes after it lifts off from Starbase, TX, after performing a Raptor relight test and doing some heavier maneuvering during reentry. Perhaps even more exciting, SpaceX will be attempting to catch the Super Heavy booster with the launch tower again.

Sad you missed out on a catch, but the day time re-entry and landing views made up for it!

More than decoloration is tempering of the steel, when the steel heats up it changes color and it goes throw that rainbow pattern coloring.

They are going to have to add landing legs on the booster and starship. They can't just land it into the sea and lose the rockets every time there are issues with the tower not being ready to catch. The backup will need to be to land on a barge.

Is there any follow-up on the booster floating in the bay? Did they not execute the self-destruct mechanism? If they did, did it fail?

Hopefully some Flerfer or Moon landing denier approaches Charlie at the Astro Awards and tries asking him "Why are you lying about the Moon?". 😅

BTW, enjoy the fact that ypu get to see a superbooster failing. Once that thing starts flying missions it will be as rare as any falcon explosion is today

I think the FTS was what triggered the big explosion after the Super Heavy did the soft splashdown. The Super Heavy had just lain over when the explosion happened.

I wonder which is going to be 1st- FSD that is actually 100% autonomous or being able to routinely catch a couple of hundred tons of metal with chopsticks.<:)

I don't think it made sense to keep the booster on screen as long as you did tbh.

Thanks for the steam. Tho was it really nesessary to show superheavy all the time and stealing screen from starship?

From 2002 to 2024, SpaceX has raised ~$10B.

From 2002 to 2024, the total budget of NASA was $435B.

If capital was the only mighty unlock needed, NASA would own the moon and we’d be celebrating the opening of the first McDonalds on Mars by now.

Since the boosted was not caught and exploded will there be another FAA battle for paper work to fly again?
