Magnetic Array Loop

This is a very interesting array designed by David Lapoint. But is it really a over-unity device or some type of linear drive?
Read Here for More Information:
-I am not claiming this is a over-unity device however the magnet will shoot through many arrays without stopping
-The original array was designed by David Lapoint & I modified it to decrease printing time and fit pex pipe
-My estimate for loop size is based on maximum curvature before a decrease in magnet's velocity
-Build and test at your own risk

David Lapointe Video:

Materials Used:
-PLA Filament(5-6 hours) on fdm
-3/8" x 1/4" 40 N52 Magnets per array @ 5920 Gauss
(You can use N40 Grade but I don't recommend anything less)
-1/2" Pex Tubing
-BNTECHGO 24 AWG Magnet Wire

Fire (7) 3/8" magnets together with north facing first into the open end of the array. All the arrays must be facing the same direction. Spacing is at 62mm from flat end to open end of next array.

It bums me out how no one is talking about the primer fields, I've been following it since the videos were initially released.

Update: I built 12 arrays and shot 10 connected magnets through. The arrays were closer together so the column of magnets being shot through were interacting with 2 arrays at a time. This new design is a little different from Lapoint's proposal. However, this also means that the contraption would need closer to 100 arrays so it is not really practical. I can confirm that there are some unique flipping points in the array and it will be interesting to see what David does with his fusion build.

Why not just make the tube an oval tilted vertically, with the magnets only on one side of the oval? Then take a polished steel ball and allow the arrays to accelerate it upward. It will reach the top of the loop, then will accelerate downward due to gravity. *BAM* A perpetual motion machine!

Yes, please, build it! I'm sure it won't work, but would really love to see that experiment. Thanks for building the 4 of them!

Do it! The only way progress is made is by trying the impossible until it is possible!

:] Regardless of whether or not it 'works', !WELL DONE! for getting this far and having a practical and inquisitive mindset. :]

Yes, definitely build one. Even if it did not work, the video should be interesting.

Lenz’s law. Start drawing a current from the coils and the emf will oppose the mechanical action of the magnet creating it. That’s why car alternators are harder to spin when a load ( lights, heated screens etc) are applied. Hence they often squeal in the winter. The alternator is harder to spin and the drive belt slips. You never get energy for nothing.

Picture a disk in your mind with magnets placed every 45 degrees oriented all the same direction with the N S poles in a tangent line at the circumference of the edge of the disk, picture the LaPoint parabolic cones with a slot for the disk to pass through. Space out the cones to unequal angles from the axis of rotation so that only one magnet is entering a cone, and the rest are being ejected from the other cones... With 8 magnets every 45 degrees, cones would be about 0 degrees, 50 degrees 100 degrees, 150 degrees, 200 degrees, 250 degrees, and 300 degrees... LaPoint half sphere filled with magnets, I would think parabolic orientation would be best

I hope you build the super array with 60 cones. The problem with so many people today is that they just read a few books and think they know it all, but no one knows but the creator what would actually happens. I have no idea what will or can happen with doing this experiment. Shame more people do not actually experiment to find out what actually will HAPPEN !! Wish you luck fella with your endeavors. Let the community know if funds are a real problem as they and myself will help with funds. Peace Tech Planet.

Thanks for sharing your investigation into this fascinating concept. I heard David mention that the array/coil arrangement had to be one of two orientations in order to pass through coils with ever increasing speed! So if you get the loop closed, it will be a challenge to "load"the magnets, but I have confidence in you and hope to see what happens. I believe I heard David say that a plasma version of this might be where this all goes but it's all good. Wish you good luck!

It may be useful to block a part of the magnetic field with a magnetic shield, so the magnet will not be attacted back in the opposed direction.

Even with a full circle, it would slow down until it stops, just like many other attempts at PPMs. you are the one putting in the energy for it to climb into the magnetic well, after which it falls into lower magnetic potential than before, and would stop after it does not have the energy to climb to the next well.

Keep in mind the Bloch wall and keep in mind the fact that the poles of any magnet are not balanced, and in fact prefer one pole over the other. This fact should be exploited! The North and South poles refer to spin, and they're always spinning.

You should pull a vaccum on the pipe and seal it with the magnet inside or displace the gas in the pipe with helium to reduce turbulence and air resistance.

Should help with efficency

I love the enthusiasm, but one would need to use magnets as the moving piece if you wanted to generate power, then yes it is potentially possible to harvest some of the inertial energy as electrical power once you got the magnetic balls going fast enough. Crazy stuff

Yes absolutely build it, and if you find something else build it to! I try not to second guess myself and it seems like You want to build it so you shouldn't question your decisions because my gut is usually right and someone made up the law of thermodynamics and we have not Proven 100% that it cannot be broken, maybe we need to circumvent the law of thermodynamics and use other things to assist the production of energy produced such as the quantum realm or gravity, I mean in my opinion giving up on something that seems is impossible is cause you didn't try hard enough!
