For anyone who doesn't know, the song is "We'll meet again" by Vera Lynn who unfortunately died today at age 103.

It’s actually really cool that Bill was singing this song and there’s a lot of meaning behind a seemingly throwaway line. We’ll Meet Again was a song famously used in Dr Strangelove, a comedy film about the cold war. The song kind of has a double meaning. It represents hope for the human race, that no matter what happens, once the apocalypse is over, they’ll meet again on “some sunny day” and everything will be alright. It also represents the fact that humans will make it out of the apocalypse and do it all again. The song goes from being a message of hope to being one of existential cynicism, the human race will recover, and they’ll cause the apocalypse again.

Bill - singing this song for Ford - is mirroring this idea. It can be seen as foreshadowing that the Pines family will make it through weirdmageddon, but it also hints that weirdmageddon will happen again, that Bill and the human race will meet again, Bill doesn’t know where, and doesn’t know when, but he knows that someway, somehow, he will have infinite chances to bring about the end of the world. Bill is just bragging to Ford. Even if they banish Bill, he’ll just have another chance, and another and another, as many as he needs. It’s a sick joke and Bill subtly telling the human race that the end of the world will be their fault, it’s human’s greed that will summon Bill, and We’ll Meet Again is sung to call back to Dr Strangelove, a film about man’s greed.
