Ok but "Don't look under your bed" and "So weird" we're actually scary for me as a kid. When they grabbed that kids leg I thought to myself "screw this! I'm not watching this movie alone!" 😂

The irony of that Twilight Zone episode was that George Takei's family was sent to an internment camp after Pearl harbor, since all Asian Americans were suspected of being traitors, regardless of proof. He spent his childhood growing up behind barbed wire fences.

"Don't Look Under The Bed" was probably one of my favorite movies as a kid. It had scary visuals but not a scary plot. It seemed most appropriate for 8 to 13 year olds. I remember the thing that REALLY scared me as a kid was the Slime Monster from Ghost Writer which was targeted towards way younger kids.

In the Buffy episode it wasn't Jonathan, the one with the gun who she had to worry about hurting her classmates it was the school's cafeteria cook. Xander wanders into the kitchen and catches the cook pouring rat poison into the food, she wanted to kill the students. She is of course stopped by Buffy.

It's tough to believe no Criminal Minds episodes have ever been banned. The ultraviolence alone should have put them over the top at least once!

I had LOVED 'Don't Look Under the Bed' when I was a kid. I forgot all about it! Thank you!

Definitely saw “Don’t Look Under the Bed” more than once as a child. Was it banned in every state from re-airing? I know this was on Disney channel multiple times, that freaky boogeyman is burned into my memories 😱

awwh I loved "don't look under the bed!" was such a good movie and I was a kid when I watched it too! it was a fairly scary movie for its time and I liked that because it set itself apart from all the other family friendly shows or even shows like are you afraid of the dark and goosebumps!

That one story arc in Buffy with the things that took away sound/people’s voices. That one effed me up as a kid the way they smiled and cut people open and no one would hear them scream

“Don’t look under your bed” scared me so much as a kid. I barely remember it but I remember not being able to go anywhere

The X-Files episode "Home" was very creepy. I remember buying the VHS tape just to watch it only for it to re-run on FOX 3 years after it's first airing.

I love how they deemed "Corrupt" from Angel too dark, yet 2 seasons later, you litterally see him closing a door shut, with people and vampire in the same room, just to kill off a bad guy. That was brutal !

I knew I wasn’t crazy seeing the Scooby Doo Project growing up.

I remember "Home" like it was yesterday. Right before my 12th birthday, watching TV when wasn't supposed to be! I remember being so confused about what was actually happening and how the entire episode just felt

I actually watched "Don't look under the bed" parts of it were really creepy for me as a kid. The Scooby-Doo special I had only seen bits and pieces of on cartoon network. At the time I new they were doing a version of the "Blair witch project" and the parts I saw were really scary for me since Scooby-Doo never had done anything so creepy. Later on I watched it on YouTube to find out it doesn't have a happy ending.

I remember watching “Ghostwatch” when it aired. I was only about 9. And it seriously frightened the living piss outta me.
I’ve watched it as an adult since, and I’m able to recognise how poor it is in many ways, but the program tapped into something inside me as a child and really opened those fear floodgates. So, to this day, I see it, I know it’s crap…..but it still gives me the heebies!!

Takeshi Miike's episode of "Masters of Horror", "Imprint" was also a well known case of the only episode of the horror anthology series to have been banned from airing due to its controversial graphic content and horror elements.
