In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I will show you how to create a spreadsheet-like view for student grades using crosstab queries. We will go through setting up the crosstab query, adding student and assignment names, and making the view more user-friendly. This is part 3.

Silver Members & up get access to an Extended Cut of this video. In the extended cut, I will show you how to make an editable crosstab form using VBA, temporary tables, and additional SQL. This allows for interactive data entry directly within the crosstab view, despite its usual read-only limitation.

Greetings Richard, I really enjoy your videos. I have a suggestion that would not require "training" for the user. For both the student and assignment fields use the "Display as Hyperlink" property (this will underline the text in the field and turn it blue (just like a website). Then instead of the "Double Click" event use the same code you showed in the "Click" event. You will get the same functionality without having to use special colors to denote an additional function. I know, from watching your videos, that you do not like hyperlinks, but this is not a hyperlink only the user won't know that. Again, thank for all you do and Live Long and Prosper.
