Really great video. Just a detail: IN DIETRO is actually an obsolete orthography, and the right translation is slightly different.

---> INDIETRO (one-worded) means "back"
Torni indietro --> Go back

---> ALL'INDIETRO means "backwards"
Camminare all'indietro --> To walk backwards

---> DIETRO (A) means "behind"
Dietro (al)la chiesa --> Behind the church
The preposition "A" can be omitted.

It confuses me a bit with ‘attraversi’ and ‘scusi’ being formal and ‘attraversa’ and ‘scusa’ bring informal. I guess I associate the ‘I’ ending with ‘tu’ and the ‘a’ with Lei.

The ABCs book is great! I’m gonna pack it in my carry on when I next travel to Italy. 😊

Danielle: This is the first time someone has gone into the basics of what is on our minds when learning a new language. Your classes have been quite good as well as your Book (The ABCs of Italian Travel). By your videos and book and your insight into what we are experiencing in trying to learn a language you have contributed to my already keen desire to one day speak Italian as an Italian. Thank you (PS. during your video lectures try looking consistently straight at the camera in stead of shifting your gaze to the side so often. Just a suggestion. Roberto
